This weeks review is on a pair of Koral Los Angeles Skinny jeans in Dirty Destroyed. You may remember the very first time I introduced you all to Koral with an interview (click here) and my previous review on their Merlot skinny jeans (click here), which have made it to my top 5 jeans of all time, so I am quite excited to be reviewing another pair from the brand, this time opting for a classic blue.

First off, I am going to state that these are a sample jean, which should be a standard size 26, however my Merlot pair of Koral jeans are a size 27 and these fit exactly like the size 27. I’m not sure if these actually are a 26 and run a size large, or they are a 27 and have been miss placed. Most Koral jeans are true to size though so I am inclined to think these are true to size too. I am a huge fan of Koral jeans! As you know before when I introduced you to the brand, I had reservations at first due to them being a new brand, but those worries were completely squashed the moment I saw a pair of their jeans in person. They are absolutely amazing!

Koral pay so much attention to detail, from the singular rivet on the back pocket, the colour co-ordinated tab on the hem of the right leg, the perfectly positioned pockets and the gorgeous fit that they have, they are wonderful jeans. The rise is a mid to low rise and they are skinny all the way down to the hem as you can see. They aren’t like a super stretchy jegging, but they are a lightweight denim, in a super skinny, so they could pass as one, but they are definitely more jean like than jegging style. They are soft on the skin and really nice to wear. I wore these all day, twice, and they are comfortable and really nice to be in. These are an ankle skinny as they hit right at the ankle on me, which is great because usually ankle jeans are too long on me, so considering I am shorter, these are definitely going to be an ankle jean on most ladies with a 30″ inside leg measurement and taller. I’m pretty sure!

Now the Dirty Destroyed wash is what attracted me to trying these as I wanted to try out one of their blue jeans. Since I already have one of their skinnies, it was important to me to try something different. This wash is absolutely perfect for summer as it’s dirty with rusty tones on the distressed areas. They also have a washed out stone effect down the thighs and at the knees so they do look worn in and ripped, just like an older pair of jeans. I find these to be really authentic looking and this is something that’s really important to me. I’ve tried and seen jeans before with rips in random places and fades in others, which wouldn’t have happened naturally, so it just looks wrong. These on the other hand look right. They could easily pass as a worn in pair of jeans. I love the nice looking faded honeycombs behind the knees too.

I absolutely love these and I honestly can’t think of anything bad to say about them. I know a lot of you rely on my denim reviews each week and like to know what I think about certain jeans, and in all honesty, I can say that if you haven’t ever tried Koral before, then you definitely should. Everyone so far who has tried Koral after my recommendations has agreed with me that they are wonderful and want to buy more. I definitely think they are worth the money and they wouldn’t be a regrettable purchase either. If you only just want to try one pair then I insist you try the Skinny cut, just like these or in other colours. You will end up loving them and living in them, I’m sure. I can say this in all honesty as well since I’m never paid for reviews, they are all my own personal opinion on the jeans I have tried and own. Buy these jeans online at Neiman Marcus and you can buy other Koral jeans online at Shopbop.com.

My review this week is on a pair of Dittos Jessica jeans in Dirty Dog from the brands SS13 collection. It’s been a long time since I wore a pair of acid washed jeans and this is also actually the first time I have tried out Dittos. I’ve always liked some of their styles when I have seen them online and in look books, but I hadn’t ever got around to testing a pair out.

When I first got these, I tried to receive them without any pre-judgement, but when they are a lot cheaper than premium denim brands ($99), I wasn’t sure if they could really be the same quality and fit, so I was really quite pleasantly suprised by them. The Jessica is the brands jegging, which is quite low rise, super skinny and not too long in length. It’s one of those cuts that works for anyone who loves jeggings and lower rise jeans. As it turns out, I actually find them to be incredibly flattering.

What suprised me the most was the back pockets. I tend to find that brands that are cheaper don’t pay as much attention to detail when it comes to back pocket size and placement (apart from AE), but Dittos also do! They really do pay attention. The pockets are quite small, but not too small, I find them to be a nice size, and they are really well placed so they are flattering on the butt. As you can see from the photo below, they actually go with the curve of the butt and make it look rounded. So many times jeans can just be really tight and flatten your tush or the pockets are too high, too low, to wide etc and create a really unflattering illusion, but these don’t and I’m really happy about that.

This Dirty Dog wash is a different kind of take on acid wash though as it has a rustic tone to it, it’s not just acid, it’s also splattered, grated and patchy with rust rubbed in. The wash reminds me a lot of a pair of jeans you would wear to a junk yard and leave with them looking like this. They are really dirty (which I mean in an inventive way, not a negative one). I would say these are definitely seasonal though. Usually I’m not one for thinking jeans should only be worn during one season, but with this wash, I find it too easy going and too ‘festival’ to be worn during the winter time. I feel like they would really look out of place during the cold weather as the wash is better suited to pastel and neon tones and lesser clothing like tank tops. They just really have that summer vibe to them.

The denim itself isn’t of a super amazing premium quality, but then for the price I wouldn’t have expected that, so for their price range, they are very nice jeans. The denim is very light weight and more like the denim you would expect on a fashion pant rather than a classic blue. I wore these for quite some time and they didn’t really stretch out or lose their shape which is good, they are quite well made in that respect. I felt great wearing them though. Because the wash is really summery, they did make me smile when I put them on. It’s nice to wear acid wash jeans again actually as it has been such a while!

I took a size 27 in these and they fit me perfectly all over. I would definitely say they are true to size. They fit around the same as Paige Verdugo leggings or I would say Koral skinny jeans. They are great and I’m really happy that I got to try them because I will definitely be trying the brand more in the future with new washes. These jeans are made in China, so if you have a preference to where your jeans are made, keep that in mind. If I could find any negatives at all about these then it would probably be wanting the material to be a little sturdier and more premium, but nothing else. The best part about these though is that they are on sale at the moment! They are now reduced right down to $49! They do come with a little rose gold heart keyring too! You can buy these jeans online at Urban Outfitters.

This weeks denim review from me is on a brand of jeans that I have always known about and seen people wear, but never tried them; Paper Denim & Cloth. I have their FLX Ankle Skinny jeans in Fusion 2 Year which I am going to be talking about for you.

Paper Denim & Cloth have been around for quite some time and they have been worn by celebs like Sienna Miller and Heidi Klum, but they don’t seem to get that much recognition in the celeb world for some reason. My first impression when I got these jeans was actually that they run really quite big. I have a size 26 in these and you can see from the photos that they are actually a bit loose, even though my true size is a 27. I’m pretty sure I could fit a size 25 in these quite tightly, or if I want them a little looser then these size 26′s are fine. If I were to compare the sizing of these then I would say they are similar to Current/Elliott’s Stiletto jeans in their regular blue washes, as I’m about a 26 in those as well.

I quite like the fit of these ankle skinnies as I feel like they are really versatile. They can be worn tight for a slim fit, but they can also be worn looser and still look good, they don’t look sloppy or ill fitted like a lot of skinny jeans worn loose can. They have that relaxed easy fit going on which I actually like as a different type of fit than what I am used to. They aren’t the most flattering jeans that I have ever worn, however for them being a little loose, they do fit quite nice.

I like how they look from the front as they are actually quite slimming, and they aren’t that bad on the butt either. I’m not overly fond of the brands trademark stitching on the pockets, but that is quite minimal, so it’s not a big issue. In terms of how the pockets fit, they aren’t that bad either. Not the most flattering like I said before, but they aren’t horrible either. I would say they were an average fit. I don’t know how they would look if the jeans were a lot tighter though, they might be different.

As for the Fusion 2 Year wash, I actually found it quite hard to match things with as it’s one of those sandy and grainy washes. It’s very pretty and very worn in with whiskering as well as fading, however I find it to be one of those washes that tends to look better on the shelf than it does worn, purely because I can’t imagine them looking really amazing with anything other than a white t-shirt. I tried pairing the wash with a blazer and some colours, but I wasn’t overly fond of how that turned out as the jeans don’t blend in too well. I do think this wash is the perfect example of a summertime wash though, because it’s an easy going, casual colour that would look best almost on its own, so for example just with some flats and a tee. That would show it off best as on its own it really is very pretty and intricate.

The denim itself is quite thin and lightweight, it’s not a jegging, but it’s also not really stiff and uncomfortable. They are quite easy to wear in terms of comfortable denim. I would say they are an in-between fabric. The denim isn’t really soft, it’s quite rough actually, but since the denim is thinner, you don’t notice it too much. Another thing I recently came across was that they are made in China. I’m not saying this is a bad thing, but I am very much used to premium denim with premium denim prices being made in the USA or places like Italy. I was quite suprised to learn they were made in China, based off of those reasons.

The length is perfect though on these, they hit just at my ankles which is how an ankle skinny should fit, but never ends up fitting that way on my short legs. So that was a really nice bonus to these, to find an ankle skinny which actually is an ankle skinny on me and not a full length jean! I’m really interested in knowing though what you all think of Paper Denim & Cloth? Do you love their jeans? You can buy this pair online at their website here for $188.

For the second part of this review, I’d like to talk a little bit about selvedge. When the Japanese started making denim, they used old fashioned narrow looms which made a narrow strip of more tightly woven fabric. To the edges a different coloured fabric (usually red, but other colours were used) was attached. This was to prevent unravelling. As Levi’s and other brands started to mass produce jeans, a wider sheet of fabric was used and this led to a drop in the quality of the jeans.

This strip became known as a self-edge or selvedge and neatly finished off the jeans and became synonymous with “cuffing” or “turning up” your jeans and completed the look of the raw jeans, which set them apart from the more mass produced brands.

The subject of this review is the Nudie Organic Green Used Selvedge. What is so striking about these jeans is the wash. A definite break from the regular Japanese denim which typically came with a raw unwashed finish. They have a sandy overtone to the fading and this fading looks far more authentic than other distressed jeans which, to me, look very manufactured. They have a proper, vintage worn in look with orange stitching and steel rivets.

This is my first pair of Nudie and I absolutely love them. If this is the kind of jeans they make then I will be buying a lot from them in the future. The quality is so superior to everything I’ve tried before. The heavy gauge denim weighs in at 13.5oz which gives rigidity making them “break” nicely down the legs, but they aren’t coarse. It seems that with the washing comes a softness which only comes with wearing jeans over a long period of time. The wash itself is a sand blasted washed Indigo. Deep and rich. This level of craftsmanship is truly astonishing and I can tell that a lot of love and attention went into making them.

The fit is Grim Tim. It’s a regular slim fit. I usually wear Diesel Thavar in a size 32 and I was advised to size up for Nudie. I ignored this and got my usual Diesel size. The upper block is slimmer with a nice slim fit around the hips and butt area with a good pocket placement and a low rise. The thighs have a little more room, but due to sizing down they actually fitted pretty darn good! The lower leg is slim with the leg length being about 1″ shorter than Diesel, coming in at exactly 32″ making these as true to size as it gets.

When I started this fact finding mission about Japanese denim, I wanted something that was a cut above the rest. I buy premium denim with Diesel all the time and I wondered could Japanese actually be better? The All Saints ones were nice and better than other All Saints jeans, but not as good as Italian denim. But these are what I was looking for. Simply amazing. Every time I pass my wardrobe I want to wear them and I constantly think of reasons TO wear them. They are perfect for casual wear and look perfect with some Chukkas and a check shirt.

This weeks review is a little different to the normal ones as I’m mixing a mini review with a styling post. The reason for this is because I was planning on reviewing these jeans properly, but upon receiving them, I’m too short for them to fit me correctly, so I didn’t think it would be a very accurate review.

As these are a type of cropped jean, they are designed to fit ladies with taller legs. The way they fit me full length is tight down to the knees, but once they hit the knees they become really baggy and loose in the calves and stop at my ankles, which is why I wanted to do a styling post as well, to show how sometimes you can make jeans that are not suited to your shape, work like they are.

Thick black and white stripes are so popular at the moment, they are a trend that every denim brand is jumping on and creating. It reminds me a lot of one of the outfits that Beetle Juice wore in the movie, but without the blazer to match. I really love the print on these, it’s very flattering, especially on the butt as it’s slightly curved so it works with your butt to make it look rounded rather than straight down. That’s my favourite part about these jeans! The stripes down the front actually tilt inwards to the knee as well, so they aren’t completely vertical. They sort of go with the shape of your legs.

The material of these is a lot like a really thick twill and it’s coated, so they are quite shiny. The black is not very dark, it’s faded quite a lot and the white is very pearly, so they aren’t the average black and white striped jean. The sheen they have makes them very different. I found them to be more like a trouser than a jean actually, with the way they fit. They aren’t like denim at all and I can’t compare them very well to another 7 For All Mankind jean, they don’t fit like any of the others I have tried like the Gwenevere or The Skinny etc, they have a different fit. These are also quite tight in the waist for 7 For All Mankind, but I put that down to being a more trouser fit. I did take a 26 in these which is my Gummy denim sizing, so you might want to keep that in mind for comparison.

You can see just above my boots that the jeans start to get loose at the knees and a bit wrinkly/baggy. I was really hoping they would be tight all the way down like a Gummy legging of theirs, but they really are a slim cropped jean. They are skinny, but not super skinny and the calf area is cut quite loose. They get baggy when they hit just above my knee because I have shorter thighs than the figure these are designed for. If I had longer legs, my thighs would be longer and the jeans would sit in the right place, so if you are shorter and have shorter legs, these will be quite loose from just above the knee downwards.

Now for the styling, I chose to wear boots with these so that it covers the looseness. I think this was the best option and I kept everything black and white, to keep with the theme. I only added a pop of red with my bag and lipstick to liven things up a little. Pinstripes have always been popular, but the idea of really thick stripes is something that I think is really bold and daring. You don’t always have to choose black and white to go with the look, you could definitely pair these with a bright and bold sweater or shirt and coloured pumps, I think the styling is almost endless. Due to the fact these are the basic shades of black and white, both of which go with almost anything, you are in luck with the styling. I would just recommend keeping other prints to a minimum so they don’t clash. I wouldn’t say my outfit here is my favourite one, but I think based on the fact they don’t fit me, it works well for the look.

So if you are taller and have long legs or if you are shorter and love wearing boots, I would say these are really nice. I love the stripe pattern all over and the way it contours the body, the back pockets are as flattering as their usual 7 For All Mankind jeans and they are coated so you get two trends in one! But if you are shorter and looking for a full length jean, I wouldn’t suggest opting for these ones as they are a unique fit for longer legs unfortunately. Buy these jeans online at 7 For All Mankind for £225.

This weeks review is on an older pair of jeans which I have had for a long time, the Diesel Staffy skinny boyfriend in 8SZ, but I thought it would be good to do a boyfriend cut as a review as I haven’t in such a long time. I actually sized up in these and took a 29/32 because I wanted them to be really loose.

I do have a Staffy in a 28 which I reviewed a really long time ago (you can see it here) and they fit a lot slimmer as you can see, so you can take your regular size (I am a 28 in Diesel’s thicker non jegging denim) and have them slightly slouchy, or size up and have them as a more baggier boyfriend jean like these. As they are loose they are incredibly comfortable and just so easy to throw on when you need to run errands or just don’t feel like tight denim.

I actually also find these to be flattering as well which suprises me. I often don’t find boyfriend jeans that attracting on women because they are cut too much like men’s jeans or they just hang and look odd, but the dropped crotch and slimness at the calves and ankles that these have, making them a skinny boyfriend, is really flattering on the figure. I also find the back pockets to be ok as well, not the most flattering as obviously they aren’t tight, but in terms of boyfriend jeans, they look quite good. They don’t make the butt look really wide or saggy.

The wash of these is also really nice. They are 100% cotton, which I never wear unless they are boyfriend jeans, but because they are so loose, you can’t even tell they have no stretch to them. They are also a thinner denim so that makes them easier to wear. But the wash, it’s got really subtle whiskering on the hips and faded areas down the thighs, all while being a really nice baby blue type of wash, with sandy areas. It’s definitely pretty and it suits the jeans perfectly. I generally don’t like dark washed boyfriend jeans, I only like lighter washes to give them that vintage, easy going look. I always class dark washes as smarter, so that’s why I like this wash a lot.

I would say if you get the chance to try Staffy from Diesel, take a size up in them and have them really loose like mine are, they create a better silhouette and are so much more comfortable. I do wear mine with a belt, but that’s generally more for look purposes rather than them falling down all the time. They do fall down a bit, but not enough to warrant needing a belt constantly. These have also been worn and washed quite a lot of times, but you can’t even tell, they have held up really well in terms of laundering which is wonderful! The inseam has shrunk a little, but that’s normal anyway. They didn’t come actually at 32 length like the label says. Have any of you got the Staffy cut?

This weeks review is on a pair of very fun and bold jeans, the Hudson Nico Mid Rise Skinny Jeans in London print. I first saw these jeans on Georgia May Jagger in the Hudson Let Yourself Go campaign a little while back and fell in love with the print then!

As for the fit, they are just like every other Nico that I have reviewed; a super stretchy mid rise jegging with the plain back pockets instead of the flap. They are incredibly comfortable, but the Nico isn’t my favourite cut out of every brand. I find it stretches out quite a lot and can become too loose and baggy after a lot of wear, so I would recommend that you size down or take your smaller size in them. That way after some wear they will still fit you ok. I did take my regular size of 27 and they fit as a 27 does in every other Nico, but you can tell on some of the close up photos they are a bit looser with the wrinkling.

In terms of fabric, these are very soft, not as soft as their denim Nicos as these are heavily printed, but the fabric is very smooth on the skin and comfortable to wear. I wore these all day and found them easy to be in without any discomfort. The inside of the jeans is all white, so the print would have been printed on top of the fabric rather than the fabric actually being fully printed. This is a little bit of an issue if you want to cuff the jeans though as it would just be a block white cuff without any colour.

The London print is actually gorgeous in person. I have spent a lot of time just staring at it all over trying to work out which parts are what. I have found the cathedral, the London Eye, parts of Westminster, fast passing traffic, London scenery by night and more. It’s definitely one of the most bold and daring prints I have ever seen on jeans before. I wouldn’t say they are the most flattering jeans as the print does enlarge your figure a little bit (as do most printed jeans) and it’s hard to see how flattering they are on the butt down to the pockets being a pretty similar print to the back of the jeans. I actually feel like they make my butt look a little wider than it usually is, based on the illusion the print creates at the back. So, I would class these as a fun jean to wear for a funky outfit, but I wouldn’t count them as any kind of staple jean that you would wear often, one that flatters the figure gorgeously.

They are beautiful though as you can see and I have included close up shots of every angle so you can see just how detailed and pretty the print is. It looks more like a collage of photos merged together to create one large print. My one negative about the print though is how much white they have at the bottom around the hems. This sudden colour change made my legs look really short, especially combined with the bunching the jeans had at the calves as they are longer than what I’m used to, it wasn’t a good look for my legs, but I tucked the hem under to make them much more flattering and darker around the hem. I feel like that elongates the legs rather than makes them look like they come to an abrupt stop. But obviously for the ladies with longer legs, you have nothing to worry about! I haven’t included measurements just yet, but I will update the post to add them if any of you require them! Just let me know! Buy these jeans online at Hudson for $218.

This weeks denim review is a little different as it’s on a pair of galaxy print denim shorts from Voodoo Girl. I didn’t get these to review for DenimBlog, it was for my own, but I thought they would make a different kind of review as it’s festival season.

As you know I am a huge fan of galaxy print and I own it in multiple pieces of clothing and although this isn’t my favourite galaxy print, I do still like the shorts. It’s more purple and pink than usual galaxy print pieces, but I think that makes the shorts much more feminine and pretty. They are super short though, which is why I wear them with leggings because they would be too short for me from behind I think. Plus the fact it’s been really cold, having bare legs isn’t such a great option.

As Coachella and other festivals are coming up due to festival season, I think these would make a really great statement pair of shorts to rock with a funky top. In terms of them being flattering on the butt, I don’t really find them to be because the pockets are not positioned in the correct place, but as Voodoo Girl is not a premium denim brand or a denim brand in general, I wasn’t expecting them to be. With high rise shorts though I often find that not many are flattering on the butt actually, but some are more than others.

I took size small in these and I am usually a 27, so that corresponds well for a close fit, but I would have liked to actually size up in these and got them a little looser so they fit more casual and lower at the back. I think they are designed to be worn a bit loose like One Teaspoon and Mink Pink, so I would recommend taking a size up.

They are definitely pretty and quite unique actually as I’m not used to seeing galaxy print shorts out and about, but they aren’t of premium denim quality, but then they aren’t a premium denim price either. Have any of you tried anything from Voodoo Girl? I love so many of their pieces, especially the tops! Buy these online at ASOS for £77.

My review this week is on the AG Adriano Goldcschmied The Legging in 18 Year Destroy. These are my second pair of The Legging fit from the brand, so I will link to my first review (click here) so you can see how these compare to those as well. The fit is pretty much identical, obviously, but the wash is very different.

Again I took size 26 in these as I wanted to be able to wear them many times without them stretching out to be too big. They are quite tight when you first put them on, but they do stretch a little with wear. I’m usually a size 27 in AG Jeans, so if you want to try The Legging fit then you can take your regular size, or you can size down a little for a super skin tight fit. I usually do this with my jeans because after wearing them many times they usually become too baggy if they fit perfect from the off.

These are super skinny all over and they are cropped at the hem too. They fit just at my ankles on me, but for the taller ladies they would appear quite higher. They work great as a full length super skinny jean for me though as you can see. The rise is a medium to low height and it’s not too low at the back either, they give good coverage all around.

The one thing that I love about AG Jeans and the way they fit is how they actually make you look slim. With some other brands I can put them on and the jean can be cut in a way that makes my thighs look bigger and my hips look wider, this happens to me with Current/Elliott sometimes, J Brand and Henry & Belle on occasions (due to my shape), but with AG Jeans, I find them to be cut so slim for my body shape that they don’t enhance anything, they just give a really nice silhouette all over. Especially around the hips and thighs. I’ve seen this on numerous other people in AG Jeans as well, they are so slimming.

As you know I really rate AG Jeans for their flattering back pockets too, they are positioned so perfectly and are just the right size to make the butt look great! The Legging fit from the brand is my favourite one by far, it’s actually one of my favourite cuts from all brands in general actually. I can’t give it high enough marks! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a really soft, comfortable jean that’s super skinny and flattering at the same time, you can’t go wrong with it.

Now for the wash, I can’t say that this is my favourite wash from AG, as I do prefer my 12 Years Dwight wash in this fit, but it is a very pretty wash. The blue is gorgeous as usual which is what I expect from the brand, it has whiskering that’s authentic, beautiful honeycombs on the backs of the knees and a general worn in vintage feel, however the hole at the knee doesn’t sit right on my knee. It sits quite a bit below my knee when it’s supposed to be on the knee, this is down to my legs being shorter than the fit model I’m sure, so that’s why it doesn’t fall in the right place for me like it does on the Shopbop model. I don’t mind the other distressed areas on the jeans, I think they look quite nice, perhaps not as authentic looking as I was hoping, but pretty none the less. I would just love for the hole at the knee to be higher as I think the majority of ladies legs aren’t super long, but those of you who are lucky enough for long legs, these will fit you great!

The wash is a little lighter than it appears in my photos, it’s a bit more like the Shopbop photos, so it’s really pretty and has a dusty feel to it a bit. My favourite part of these jeans is actually the lap area due to the whiskering and behind the knees as well, besides the fit I mean. I actually have my eye on a new lighter wash in The Legging which just came out and I am thinking about getting those ones too! If you have any questions about these jeans just comment and let me know and I can answer them! Buy these jeans online at Shopbop.com.

I can’t actually explain how excited I was to finally try the new Diesel Skinzee cut as Diesel has always held a big soft spot in my heart from years ago as they were one of the first brands I loved when I got into premium denim. Those of you who have known me for a while from the blog will know that I used to live in Matic and Lowky as they were two of the best cuts that Diesel ever came out with. Matic 81M was my favourite jean for numerous years and it still is one of them, if only they were stretchier.

I found Diesel to be a little bit behind on the jeggings trend in comparison to most other brands and just a little behind in terms of printed denim, different materials etc so I ventured into numerous other brands to fit that need. I know they came out with Livier and Jeggonfire some time ago, but I was waiting for them to properly introduce a jegging fit to their Fit Your Attitude Collection. Since finding out last year, I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this 0811X wash as I prefer the lighter washes to the darker ones and now I have finally tried them.

Now I’m not sure if I was slightly disappointed in these jeans purely due to the fact that I had such high hopes and these didn’t meet my high expectations, or if they just aren’t as great fitting as their other jeans. I found the fabric to be quite rough and scratchy against the skin, it’s definitely not soft in comparison to other brands and it feels a bit papery, although it is really stretchy.

I also found them to run a bit tight in comparison to my other Diesel jeans. The waist area at the moment gives me quite a lot of muffin top and is a bit restricting, but I know that will stretch over time. But, my biggest downfall with these is the back pockets. I was hoping for something more along the lines of Matic back pockets or just a flattering back pocket in general, but I find the bottoms of these pockets to be too pointy and they are a bit wide overall. I don’t feel like they actually enhance the butt like Diesel jeans usually do, I feel like they just sit there covering the butt instead. By no means are they absolutely awful, they are still fine to wear and I am hoping that after lots of wear they will mould to my shape a lot more and be flattering, but currently as it stands they are not the most flattering Diesel jeans I own by far.

I do like how they fit from the front, the rise is a mid height as well so it keeps you covered and the length is fine for me. I did take size 27/30 in these and that’s also one thing I do love about Diesel, the fact you can choose your inseam lengths! The back patch and coin pocket are quite minimal for Diesel, usually they are quite bold and wild, but these are almost as subtle as you can get, which I quite like as well, since I much prefer minimal details on jeans with no heavy branding.

The 0811X wash is almost quite powdery actually, it’s a soft mid blue with lighter areas all around, but the overall tone is powdery, which I actually really like. I do feel like they make my hips a little larger at the sides due to the lightness towards the sides of the jeans, but that’s not really an issue, I guess it gives me more curves so that’s something to keep in mind if you are looking to get a jean which gives a curvy illusion. The wash on these do that for me.

Since I have had many different Diesel washes over the years, I wouldn’t say these are among my favourites, but it is a nice, simple wash. If I wasn’t going to compare these jeans to previous Diesel jeans then I would say that it’s quite a good mid wash for those of you who are looking for something mid to light for spring and want to try out Diesel. This is also currently the only lighter wash that the Skinzee comes in at the moment.

I suppose this review is sounding quite bad, but honestly I’m not trying to put these jeans down as I do like them and plan on wearing them quite a bit, but since I have been a Diesel nerd for so long, they definitely don’t meet my expectations of what I was hoping and that’s purely because of how close and fond of the brand I have been since I was 17 (7 years) and I think in all honesty the brand has gone down a bit since their hay days some years ago. I think a lot of you will agree if you are Diesel fans and used to love their old amazing washes like 71J, 772, 81M, 61X etc.

I do understand that it might be harder to create such a pretty wash on a jegging due to the fabric being a lot different, so I do take that into consideration. I don’t dislike these, but I would have loved the pockets to be more like the old Matic style pockets and the fabric to be much softer, those are my only complaints with these really. But maybe after wearing them and washing them more, they will soften up I’m sure.

Since the back pocket photo is from higher up just below, you can check the full length one in the gallery to see what I mean. In terms of mid to light blue washes in general though, I would still pick this wash over many other brands as Diesel do still know how to create a great wash in comparison to others, I’m just comparing them to how Diesel used to be. But if I wasn’t, then this is definitely a very pretty wash that I would recommend to you. Diesel aren’t always made in Italy either, just in case you were thinking they were. Many are made in different countries and these are made in Romania. The pairs with the red, white and green flag embroidery on the back of the waistband are made in Italy though, so keep an eye out for those if you want Italy made Diesel’s.

Overall, to end this really long review, I would definitely recommend them to you if you are looking for a nice mid to light blue wash in a jegging, they do fit nicely from the front and although I don’t like the back pockets on these ones, that’s purely based on my body shape. I have seen these on some other people, especially the Diesel models, and they look great, it’s definitely person dependent I think as I have seen some other ladies in Matic which didn’t look as flattering as they could, yet they were my favourite cut. The fact you can choose your size and inseam is always a bonus for shorter ladies like myself and for the longer legged ladies too! If you were always worried about the low rises on Diesel jeans, you don’t have to worry with these as they are quite high so that’s great! For sizing, if you are between sizes, I would say take your bigger size as these do run quite tight. Buy these jeans online at Zalando.
