A couple of weeks ago at the Levi’s Haus in Los Angeles, the brand celebrated the Levi’s partnership with will.i.am and Coca Cola. For this partnership, Levi’s created a limited edition 501 jean for EKOCYCLE, a social movement founded by legendary musician and producer will.i.am and Coca-Cola. The limited edition 501 jean is made of post-consumer waste (8 plastic bottles to be exact).

The jeans are available on Levis.com as well as in select Levi’s stores and they retail for $128! The idea behind all of this is to show the everyday recycling choices made by Levi’s and to change the way consumers think about and treat waste. I think it’s a really cool idea and I’m always a big fan of will.i.am, so I’m glad he’s behind it! You can check out the images in the gallery below.

The celebrate their launch across the pond, Joe’s Jeans has taken a trip to London to host a dinner event at Le Caprice with Purple Magazine. Hosts Olvier Zahm, of Purple, and Joe’s Joe Dahan were joined by the likes of Lily McMenamy, Marissa Montgomery, Zara Martin, Sara Parker Bowles, Valentine Fillol Cordier, Lara Bohinc and Ellen von Unwerth.

At the event the guests dined and mingled amongst each other as well as having some fun with the photographers. Click through the gallery to see the photos of all the fun below.

Hudson has partnered with One Voice and SCOOP boutique to host a shopping event hosted by Molly Sims at the SCOOP Brentwood. To benefit One Voice, Hudson will donate ten percent of the proceeds of the evening to the non-profit organization helping families living at the poverty level within the Los Angeles area.

On the 18th April 2013, the Donna Ida Chelsea boutique re-opened its doors on Draycott Avenue after Donna refurbished the entire boutique. The boutique served an all-day breakfast treats and launched the brand new Spring Summer 2013 season with a ‘Surf’s Up’ theme.

Donna Ida boutiques are renowned for their extreme personal service with the famous Denim Clinic committed to finding the perfect pair of jeans. I went to one of her denim clinics a while back as you might remember. To mark the day of reopening, Donna Ida gave away a pair of designer jeans every 30 minutes – the time it takes for a Denim Clinic in any of the Donna Ida boutiques.

The new boutique was designed by d-raw and features a brand new shop front, sweeping denim bar and sumptuous new changing rooms. Guests were treated to the all day breakfast starting off with mini croissants from Poilâne, yummy bacon sandwiches from Daphnes, Bounty Bars and cake pops from Pop Bakery in the shape of surf boards, hibiscus flowers, and even mini Chihuahua heads like Donna’s dogs Romeo and Julio. Jax Coco provided refreshing coconut water to all their guests and in the afternoon Eclipse Bar served up their famous watermelon martinis.

The first 50 guests to make a purchase received a jam packed goody bag with an exclusive Blackscore ‘Chic for Brains’ tee from Simeon Farrar, a voucher from Melissa Odabash and beauty products from Sarah Chapman, Rodial, Ioma and Bliss. Simeon Farrar designed a collection of exclusive tees for the launch from his Black Score label.

Guests who attended included Made in Chelsea’s Rosie Fortescue, Disney Roller Girl, Jai’me London Boy, Vogue’s Lauren Milligan, Forward PR’s Courtney Blackman, I’m Am Not A Celebrity Kate MacCauley and author of Run Fat Bitch Run Ruth Field.

Donna Ida also celebrated the opening of their temporary SALE Pop-up shop which will be open until 7th May. The store is across the road at 171 Draycott Avenue, South Kensington, London SW3 3AJ (which was previously Jean Paul Gaultier) and is offering discounts of up to 70% plus a sample sale. It looks like it was a great day and I was gutted that I couldn’t make it, but it was among the press day trips and I wasn’t in London that day unfortunately! Did any of you go?

Diesel and Fashion Scout joined forces to celebrate the Pam Hogg AW13 runway show, hosted exclusively in the brand-new Diesel Village pop-up on London’s iconic Regent St. The event was invite only, Horse Meat Disco topped the bill, with Jim Stanton and Severino Panzetta delivering an amazing set within the intimate setting of the Diesel Village community – a store design created to celebrate the creativity, passion & spirit behind Diesel’s motto ‘For Successful Living’.

Food was created by Bubble Food London, alongside a bespoke cocktail menu using Langtons Gin created especially for the event by Soul Shakers. The guests included: Mary Chateris, Jamie Winstone, Tyler James, Zoe Hardman, Lydia Bright, Rhys Webb (The Horrors), model and presenter Erin McNaught alongside Pam Hogg and lots of her fashionable friends!

The Party brought together generations of artists, fashionistas, media and opinion formers to celebrate the Pam Hogg AW13 collection and you can see some of the images in the gallery below! What do you think of the event?

Diesel held a party with EDUN at The Old Selfridges Hotel in London, in celebration of the Diesel + EDUN collaboration last week. Robin Scott-Lawson from My Beautiful City created a gorgeous exhibition space especially for the party, so it was based around the 12 African talents featured in the campaign.

The collaboration came around because in January 2012, Diesel founder Renzo Rosso and EDUN founders Ali Hewson and Bono, travelled to Uganda and Mali, where they shared their love of the continent and toured each others programs: Diesel’s Only The Brave Foundation project in Dioro, Mali and EDUN’s Conservation Cotton Initiative (CCI) in Uganda. The experience encouraged them to join forces to further apparel trade and development in Africa under the name Diesel+EDUN.

The whole event was streamed by Boiler Room live and featured performances by Romare, Baloji, Spoek Mathambo, Theo Parrish, Batida, Kyle Hall b2b Funkineven, Omar s and Culoe de Song b2b Mosca. Many celebrities attended the event, including Ben Grimes, Ebony Bones, Pixie Geldof, The Feeling, Oliver Proudlock, Rosie Fortescue, Matthew Williamson and more!

The Diesel + EDUN collaboration is a 25 piece denim collection co-designed by Diesel+EDUN. Inspired by African creativity, the collection is entirely sourced and manufactured in Africa with the finest CCI cotton from Uganda.

Using raw, untreated denim, the Diesel+EDUN collection was built around a reinterpretation of the four-pocket jean of the 1970s, popular on the streets of South Africa. Malian textile prints are echoed in the denim lining and across the jersey pieces in the collection. Embroidery details reference traditional Zulu weaving patterns, while the dresses feature Kenyan metalwork. Running through the whole collection are four unique symbols inspired by Dogon culture and designed to reflect the heart of the Diesel+EDUN collection.

At its heart, the Diesel+EDUN collaboration is about trade not aid. It will engage a global audience with the creative passion of its founders to raise awareness of the creative opportunities in Africa and build sustainable trade with the continent through fashion – a global loudspeaker for the new African economic and creative paradigm.

Economic growth, driven by trade and investment, is the critical engine that will end poverty in sub-Saharan Africa. By sourcing CCI cotton from Uganda and entirely manufacturing the collection in Africa, Diesel+EDUN are bringing business to the continent and highlighting to the fashion world the possibility for sustainable trade and creative opportunity in Africa.

To bring the spirit of the collection to life, Diesel+EDUN developed the concept of Studio Africa – a virtual loudspeaker for a new generation of creative talents from across the continent. The campaign features nine artists in fashion, film, music, literature, and photography; individuals with both talent and a deep commitment to their respective countries and people:

Meet the catwalk model running a foundation for the education of orphaned girls in Tanzania; the actor creating opportunities for Senegal’s talibé beggar children; the fashion designer building an industry in Côte d’Ivoire one skilled worker at a time; the musician drawing on Belgian and Congolese roots to challenge what it means to make African music today; the writer from Morocco breaking taboos as the first openly gay author in the Arab world; and the photography collective showing their hometown of Soweto, South Africa in a whole new light. Step inside Studio Africa to find out how the cast members are redefining the future on their own terms.

The Studio Africa campaign will be featured in the top 100 Diesel stores and windows around the world – including Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, and Cape Town, South Africa. Beyond the retail environment, the Studio Africa campaign will come to life through a series of launch events in key international cities in Spring 2013, a digital media campaign, and a global PR campaign.

Joe’s recently opened a new store on Melrose in the Melrose Place area in Hollywood, California. To celebrate they held an event at the new flagship hosted by Sophia Bush.

The many celebrities came out decked in Joe’s attire. The host herself wore their plaid Teddy, Jaime King wore, their Skinny in Blair, as well as Chris Galya in the Relaxed Shirt and the Brixton in Peat and Chris Zylka in the Relaxed Shirt in Sea Green Plaid paired with the Classic in Herata, just to name a few. Earnest Sewn are having a Spring 2013 preview/party on Monday November 12th at their Meatpacking District Store which is located at 812 Washington Street, New York. There will be food, drinks, a DJ, and an opportunity to win 2 free pairs of jeans! In order to enter the competition, you must be in attendance and post a photo from the party with the #earnestsewn. Lena Dunham hosted a Pre Emmy dinner at the Levi’s Haus a few weeks ago on 18th September. She wore a Levi’s denim vest over a black dress for the event.

Nancy Silverton from Mozza was the chef for the night and other guest attendees included Jenni Konner, Sarah Heyward, Deborah Shoeneman, Kathleen McCaffrey, Elisabeth Moss, Jessica Elbaum, Allison Williams, Lisa Yadavaia, Susan Goldberg, Ali Adler, Lesley Arfin, Autumn de Wilde, Shirley Kurata, Kathryn Hahn and Jennifer Westfeldt. Scoop NYC will be holding a launch party for the new denim brand Eugene Is My Middle Name on October 10th. The collection features the classic skinny as well as some straight leg styles in various washes from metallic to stone washed to bold hued pairs.
