Recession Denim teams up with Feed the Children

Recession Denim (Kristen Stewart is a fan) has teamed up with Feed the Children, to help provide food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to individuals, children and families who have suffered greatly across the country due to the recession. Recession Denim recently donated 300 pairs of fleece leggings from the Fall collection, and will also be contributing proceeds from the sales of their denim this Holiday season to Feed The Children’s ‘Truck Sponsorship’, which will give back to the various communities where Recession Denim is sold, by sponsoring a truckload of food, personal hygiene and AVON products to families in need on a local basis.
Daniella Siri, the designer of Recession Denim created a more affordable denim brand because she saw how the struggling economy was not only affecting the people close to her, but also across the United States. By donating a portion of sales proceeds to Feed The Children, she can directly help people of local communities across the country where her jeans are sold.
“The inspiration behind Recession Denim was that an amazing pair of jeans should be available to everyone, regardless of their budget.” says Siri. “I want the women that buy my jeans to feel and look great without paying a fortune. Now when they buy a pair of Recession Jeans, they will also be helping children and families across America who are suffering because of the current economy.’

Lee Jeans go retro

Lee jeans joins the rankings with Wrangler and Levi’s as one of the great denim originals. This year, Lee returns to the spotlight to celebrate their 100 year anniversary. To celebrate this feat the company is digging into the archives with a new collection. The Lee Original – The Archives, is a limited edition of eight trousers and five jackets. Exact replicas have been made of the company’s most iconic lines.
The company didn’t spare any detail. Including going to Japan to exacting train-spotting specs using the same production techniques, cotton, rivets and tightly woven selvage Cone 818 denim that marked the originals so distinctively.

Denim Brands: Mondo Jeans

Mondo Jeans was established in 1983, in Istanbul, Turkey. In the late 80s they started to sell in south Africa and the Middle East. Years after their success had expanded to Russia, Siberia and Ukraine, in the mid 90s, they started to export to europe and the USA. Today they export to over 40 countries all around the world.
The Mondo collection is sold exclusively in leading, cutting edge High-End stores. The stylish look comes not only from the cut, but also from the special fabric and design. the “high tech” fabrics and the hand made details make their product unique, stylish and comfortable. They draw their inspiration from young people and their lifestyles. Combining this with the strong European flavor of its origins, their fashion lies in its contrasting yet complementary features. Mondo men are individualists who know how to get the most out of life and see clothes as an expression of their personality and lifestyle. They produce shirts, jeans, pants, long-sleeve T-shirts, T-shirts, sweaters, jackets, blazers and other accessories.
Denim Brands: Edwin Vintage

Here is an interesting denim brand for our male readers.
Edwin – an anagram of D, E, N, I, M (reversing the M creating a W) was founded in Tokyo, by Mr Tsunemi, 1947 in response to the expensive and poor quality denim domestically available in Japan at the time. Driven to create his own denims, Mr Tsunemi placed emphasis on sophistication in fits, washes and quality and from this point on quality, craftsmanship, innovation and integrity have been fundamental to the identity and aesthetic of the Edwin brand.
In the 1990’s Edwin created the ‘new vintage’ denim concept, which encompasses the subtle beauty of hand replicating vintage washes from archive references pre-dating 1947. Made in Japan from red selvage denim, all wear and detailing is done by hand and each style is limited to only 150 pairs worldwide! Having such a limited amount available to buy really makes these jeans more unique and special. The brand features raw jeans, distressed jeans, skinny fits and relaxed fits and even styles with suspenders. I think this brand is worth a try guys.

New Denim Brand: Yoga Jeans

Second Clothing’s new Yoga Jeans Campaign looks really hot! The denim campaign celebrates real women. Yoga jeans have a unique fit that flatters a woman’s curves like no other denim in the market… so much so that women of all ages and sizes are singing the praises of these ‘miracle jeans’ and passing the happy news onto friends says the creative director.
While most denim brands feature unrealistic portrayals of women, Second’s new approach with the Feel Good, Real Good campaign not only celebrates the diversity of women’s shapes and sizes, but does so with a touch of humour. Yoga Jeans give women what they really deserve: to feel good, real good.
What we wanted to do with the campaign is to update the brand and work to refresh the approach of an industry that has not yet responded to a post-Dove world where seeing images of themselves in media and advertising drives real women to connect with each other and with brands.
What do you think of their concept? I think it’s a really good idea. You can view their new, racy and hot advert below.
