Children’s charity Jeans for Genes is making style history by teaming up with super model Jodie Kidd and designing a one off stylish stiletto to celebrate Jeans for Genes Day.

The unique shoe has been created by UpperStreet.com using Jodie’s very own favourite pair of jeans – the original zip, button and waistband have been transformed into this chic pair of shoes fit for any fashionista!

The jean shoe was auctioned on eBay with all proceeds being donated to the charity.

Now in its 15^th year, the charity has raised a staggering £35 million and is once again asking people to make a donation to wear their jeans to work or school to raise money for children and families affected by genetic disorders. They aim to raise £2.5 million from the Day!

Genetic disorders affect 1 in 25 children born in the UK with more than 4,500 recognised genetic disorders, which account for more than half of all childhood deaths.

To mark the 10th anniversary of Pink Pony, Polo Ralph Lauren is holding its First Pink Pony Online Auction in partnership with luxury charity auction site, charitybuzz, to benefit cancer research. With one-of-a-kind denim worn and signed by Tom Cruise, a patchwork American flag handcrafted from recycled vintage denim, jeans signed by Ralph Lauren himself and many more Ralph Lauren denim looks up for auction. 100% of net proceeds will be benefiting The Pink Pony Fund for cancer research. Starting Thursday, July 15th, you can drop off a pair of gently worn jeans at any bebe location and receive $25 off a new pair from their fall 2010 collection. Additionally, you can donate $10 to the cause and receive $25 off.

Bebe has teamed up with Clothes4Souls to launch the “Take off Your Jeans for a Good Cause” campaign. Clothes4Souls is part of the international charity, Soles4Souls, which strives to increase dignity and hope for hurting people through the gift of new clothing from manufacturers, designers, and retailers.

Bebe director of human resources, Charles Smith stated, “We are proud to be the first retailer to partner with Clothes4Souls because we share a common goal of trying to make a difference in the lives of underserved women and children, and with this campaign we are also enabling our customers to join in our efforts to bring dignity and hope to families throughout the world who are desperate need.”

It’s really nice when companies and people use their image and brands for good cause. I think what Big Star jeans did at the Las Vegas Trade show is wonderful! You can read below the press release on what happened at the show.

The Big Star Brand brings vintage to the forefront this season with the launch of ‘Big Star Vintage,’ a collection comprised of jeans with modern silhouettes and masterful, handcrafted washes that replicate true, vintage jeans. The collection was showcased at the February Project Show in Las Vegas and was a huge hit due to its premium quality and realistic price point.

While selling jeans was the focus of the show, the Big Star team also had another goal: Helping Haiti. The interior and exterior walls of the Big Star booth were decorated with real dollar bills (with a few hundreds mixed in!) and a contribution container was set up in front of the booth. Over the course of the 3 day show, owner Yul Ku and his Big Star team would peel dollars off of the booth and deposit them in the containers, hoping to encourage customers to donate as well. All too often, these tragic disasters are forgotten about a few weeks after the destruction, and people are left to struggle alone with the catastrophic repercussions. Big Star wants to keep this tragedy fresh in people’s thoughts, and continue to support those who have lost their homes, family members and way of life. The money collected totaled approximately $13,500 and will be donated to the American Red Cross’s disaster relief fund for Haiti.

Starting this Friday, March 5th through March 14th, you can bring in any denim clothing item to be recycled at Gap. You will receive 30% off a purchase of new denim. Best part is, there’s no limit to how much you can bring in and your denim will be going to a good cause, the Cotton from Blue to Green Project. The project takes denim, recycles it and uses it as installation in homes. Now you can shop the celeb favorite Gap 1969 collection!

Jay-Z, Lebron James and Beyonce attended the Sprite Green Instrument Donation in Mesa, Arizona on Valentines Day. The trio donated 150 musical instruments to students at Mesa Arts Academy. The Academy also received a piano signed by all three stars. Beyonce wore Siwy Hannah Jeans to the event.
