Flat Iron Debate- SEDU or GHD Professional?

I am on the verge of buying a new flat iron and am debating between the Sedu & the GHD Professional.

Any opinions?

Sedu:
Folica.com Product Reviews: Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Straightener (1½")

GHD:
ghd Professional Ceramic Hair Straightener (1.75"), GC12, Free Shipping

My hair is med thick and wavy and tends to frizz.

A review said the GHD is heavy and therefore hard on the wrist although Folica lists it as having a lower weight than the Sedu.

GHD has only one temp setting, Sedu has multi.

Hmm...

Multi-temp is supposed to be better for the hair!
I also hear good things about Chi.

I know that multi temp is definitely a better option, but everywhere I read about flat irons everyone is all GHD GHD!!!! It is like the god of flat irons lol?!

It seems with a CHI everyone either loves them and they last or they go kaput on them &/or dry out their hair so they hate them.

I know I don't want a CHI- I think everyone always talks about them because they are such a known brand.

If you are considering the Sedu, I would also consider the Solia. Sedu makes them and they are multi-temp and work amazingly well. I love mine and love how straight it gets my hair. It is pretty light and goes up to 450 degrees. Forgot to mention it is very reasonably priced!

Thanks for your input! I have read that people say the Solia & Sedu are similar with the exception that the Solia is less expensive.

I have the Sedu Tourmaline and I absolutely LOVE it! I have had it for 2 years and have had no problems. It's also VERY light weight, heats in seconds and has a temp control. It makes me hair so shiny and POKER straight and it lasts for days. I live in FL where humidity kills my curly do all the time but not with this iron. It's the best I have ever used, better then my stylists fo sure and she has a chi.

I am in FL too so this all sounds good to me! Thanks for your input!

I also have a Sedu and I don't know how I lived without it. My hair is curly and frizzy, and with my T3 blow dryer + Sedu I am able to get it sleek and straight. I have had mine for a year, with no problems. IMO, it's TOTALLY worth the money!

I have the Solia and it works great. I have never tried Sedu so I can't compare it. But it's worked great for me so far.

I ended up getting the GHD Professional one. Received it yesterday and it is truly AWESOME! It took sooo much less time and effort to straighten out my hair (yesterday) and it lasted through today! (I slept on it and exercised too!) I highly recommend it to anyone who is considering the GHD brand. So far so good.

I have the Solia - at first I was all about getting a Chi until I heard they break easily and had mixed reviews. I am curious if the Sedu is worth the extra $35, but so far I have been very happy with the Solia.

Not to hijack the thread, but....does anyone know where in Canada I could get a Solia one?

^
I think Solia is only available on Folica (Sedu and Solia are apparently made by Folica)

I was just searching for one for my friend earlier and saw the Solia Tourmaline which claims to be better than the regular ceremic plates. I'm tempted to get that one just because it claims to give healthier hair, but it's pretty pricy though
I am using a Hai I bought from like 3 years ago and it is still working beautifully. I love the adjustable heat too. I think if I take good care of it, it can seriously last for a life time. hahaha Now I need a reason to buy that Solia one...
