vintage Gucci signature bag, what to do with it?

I've had this vintage Gucci bag for a couple years, given to me by my mom which she bought in the late 80s! So far, I have only used it ONCE and now it just sits on my floor. Hmm I don't know what to do with this bag because 1.) I think it's a bit flashy for a 17-year old 2.) Don't know what to wear with it, casual or dress it up at night? Wear black? 3.) I'm not much of a purse person--I usually just carry a wristlet around. If I did decide to sell it, what should be the asking price?

awww... it's so pretty. I think you should keep it since it was handed down to you. Even though you may not use it much now your taste may change in the next few years. I think that bag's very versatile- you could wear it would jeans or with dressy outfits at night.

What is the condition of the bag? I think you should keep it for a while. You never know, maybe it will be worth more later on? Depends on how well kept it is. A reallllly gorgeous bag!

The condition is actually pretty good. The exterior is perfect, but the interior has little black flakes coming off of the inside part. I'll be getting that fixed as soon as I find a reliable hangbag tailor in my area.

I have a similar vintage Gucci bag- mine is flaking too...

If you ever plan on using it down the line, keep it. I personally feel that Gucci doesn't make as nicely crafter bags anymore. Plus, Gucci and LV bags do not retain value well (especially vintage and used bags) so you would only get around $300-ish for your bag which is a crying shame.

The stuff they use now for the mono bags are cloth like as opposed to the much more sturdy canvas back in the 80s. I highly doubt Gucci bags now will last 5 years being used on a daily basis. My mom has a Gucci bag that is 20 years old that she uses daily and it look like it's in excellent condition.

I think it's a nice bag for going to college/work or even going shopping.....

Sell it to me. Real cheap since you don't like it

Keep it! You will regret selling it later on in life.

I wouldn't sell it. I have one from my mom too, its a tote which I LOVE. You will problbly regret selling it, and its not like you can just go back out and buy it again.

i wouldn't sell it just yet... you may end up changing your mind years down the line and end up using it after all!

True...I just feel bad that it sits on my floor with no use

I guess I'll keep it. Hopefully it'll come in use soon!
