facial daytime moisturizer for combo/dry skin

I've been searching high and low for my HG daytime facial moisturizer. I have combination skin with, sometimes, dry patches on my cheeks and breakouts along my forehead. I need a moisturizer that's light so I can mix it in with a tinted moisturizer, and preferrably under $30 as I'm a student with no job or allowance. Yesterday I went to Planet Beauty and talked to the consultant/saleswoman, and she recommended me a few moisturizers: 1.) Sonya Dakur's Ultra-light pH balanced moisture lotion 2.) Yon-ka creme 11 3.) Dermalogica active moist. The prices of these are all what I don't want to spend on a moisturizer because I think, as a 17 year old, would I really need a $41-$75 moisturizer? I really liked Dermalogica's, and I guess I could shell out $35 for it...but I'm cheap when it comes to skincare basics. Is it really worth it? I usually try to stay away from drugstore brands, but I'll try just about anything now because I'm tired of searching! So what is your HG moisturizer, if you have combo/dry skin?

i'd stay away from drugstore brands

i'd get the dermologica one ... or bioelements absolute moisture (or crucial moisture) is great for combination skin .. however i don't know how much it is :/

i think it's like 30 bucks? ...

The Dermalogica is definately good stuff. You can get it cheaper on eBay. I used it for AGES, but got sick of paying all the $$. Now I use Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture. I like the texture a lot and it's fragrance free. Disclaimer: I have pretty good skin so whatever I use tends to be pretty good but I'm picky with my facecare and I really like it! It's like $11 or $12.

I have combo skin and I have found that my best dermalogica moisturizer is actually the barrier repair. I used active moist for ages, but then I got the barrier repair (this salon near me was going to stop carrying the line and everything was by one get one free...so I just bought everything). So all of the sudden I found myself using the barrier repair instead of the active moist...It is just the best moisturizer I have ever used. It _really_ does the job, but doesn't make me greasy or break out. Seriously, it gives my skin the glow and texture I have always coveted in other people. And, like most every dermalogica product, it lasts forever. I got my first tube in May and squeezed out the last of it at the end of October. I am convinced that I spend less on skincare than someone who buys loreal...dermalogica may cost more, but it lasts sooooo much longer.

Dermalogica active moist is really good. My friend works at a spa/massage place and she gave me a whole load of sample sachets and they've lasted ages! My skin is a lot smoother now too. I used to get really dry skin around my cheeks and nose but now it's not as bad.

I'm sure if you buy at online stores or eBay it would be cheaper than going to a store. I've seen Dermalogica packs go for about $10-15 less than retail. But do get some samples to try first before you get them online just in case!

I used to use drugstore brands and wonder why my skin was so dry but now I've realized that with skincare you just should not scrimp because if you don't look after your skin now you will have problems when you get older with wrinkles, freckles and whatnot.

Well, ultimately, wrinkles and freckles are the result of too much sun exposure, not the type of lotion you put on. I agree that it's important to take care of your skin though!!

Dermalogica isn't faked, right? Just makin sure because you know nowadays, just about everything is being faked!
