Any Intereste in a Louis Vuitton Babylone Handbag?

I have this bag and have been going back and forth about keeping it. I've had it nearly 10 years, but have barely used it. It's spent the majority of it's life in it's dust cover, in my closet. I'd say it's nearly perfect. Would there be any interest here if I decide to sell it? If so, what is a fair price?

Just toying with the idea at the moment. I just don't use it and think it may be silly to hang onto it. BTW, I used to work for LV way back when...so authenticity is not an issue...

What a pretty style. I've always wanted a LV, but have never bought one. I would be interested, but not sure if I could afford it .

That's so cool that you used to work for LV. Do you have a huge collection?

Not a huge collection. I've got a few things, mainly small and medium handbags. I had a larger travel bag that I sold here a few months ago, I just never used it! Same with this bag. It's SO PRETTY, and I really love it, but it's just not very practical for me (stay-at-home mom of 2)!

A bit off-topic, but how much was your discount? I used to work in a high-end department store with its own LV boutique, and I got 20% lol. Do LV employees get 50% or more?

It's been a while now, but if I remember right, it was 30%...but don't quote me! I left there about 9 years ago! One thing for sure is that it's never 50% or more.

That pic is just an example, NOT my bag. My bag is in really similar condition, if not better!!! (I just didn't want to take pics etc, yet if I'm not ready to sell it!) I was an LV employee, so I am pretty anal about how my bags are stored, etc...

^ you actually have to be an established member to buy/sell/trade on Purse Forum (~at least 2 months, and post actively, etc), plus there's an application process.

your best bet is to check completed listings on ebay to see how much the prices they've been going for. the nice thing is that LV doesn't ever go on sale. they do price increases every year (3 just this year!!!), so you can probably get a decent amount for the bag.

about the employee discount, i heard that it still is only 30%, but not on everything. customers get first dibs on LE items, and there's only a certain amount you can buy per year or something.

Yeah, I just checked into purseforum...probably not for me.

There is definitely a limit on how much an employee can buy (for obvious reasons!). One thing we did have back then - not sure if they still do this - they'd periodically send a list around of merchandise that was overstocked or had minor damage. We were able to shop from it at really great prices (and only buy a limited amount again!). That was REEEEAAAALY fun!
