I'm in Handbag heaven

So I've recently started partipating in forums, Honest Forum and Purse Forum, and I'm still a noob when it comes to purchasing things (I've been paying retail my whole life...until recently.) I was just searching the purse forum and noticed that some girls have 30-40 LV purses. Do you know if these girls pay retail for them or buy them off of ebay (I'm starting to turn into a purse addict and I'm debating if I should buy a nice LV purse at retail or find a loop hole and get a bunch of authentic ones without paying retail) Thanks

yep... many of them have been collecting for years. others may have started collecting recently. in the LV section, many of the women have purchased both retail and secondhand (especially for discontinued items), but i think the majority purchase brand new/retail. LV never goes on sale, which I think is a big part of the appeal

there's quite a diverse group on PF... generally, a very nice community

yeah, i'm part of the purse forum and have not been participating in it as much as browsing, and i hear most of them buy them as new. Also b/c if they're collecting it, they want it in mint condition. I think they're not collecting because of quantity but b/c of quality!

i bought most of my lv's retail. i'm pretty anal about having patina on my vachetta so i always buy items with vachetta brand new. my damier and epi pieces i don't mind buying on ebay. all in all i've probably bought a total of 50+ lv items. this is all within years though. it's an addiction =]

Pay retail from the designer's boutique- it's not worth it to maybe get a fake.

^ WOWzers! how i'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to see your collection!!!

and yes i'd say most buy retail because it's not worth it to pay $100 or $200 less for a fake! simply rather not take the risk!
