Do lacoste polo's shrink much when washed and dried?

I bought my boyfriend a lacoste polo (I think it was classic cut) in the equivalent of a medium. He like's things fitted so now we're wondering if I should have gotten a size smaller. It fits great in the shoulders and the arms but the body does seem a little wide. He did try on the other cuts but didn't like the way they looked on him.

Does anyone know if you wash and hang dry these do they shrink any? If so do they shrink up in length or in width or in both? If you wash them and then dry them on low or a higher setting do you know how much they shrink?

I am afraid he will dry it in an effort to get the right fit and it will end up being too short or too small.

I think mine have shrunk a tad in length, but not width. I never dried mine in high heat though.

Lacoste polos aren't cut that great, IMO.

mine have shrunk in length in width (acidentally going in the dryer at high heat).. most of the shrinkage was length though

For me, Lacoste shrinks awkardly. Gets wider and shrinks vertically. That's why I dry clean mine.

We were in Nordstrom's tonight and he tried on an identical shirt in a size smaller and it actually fit really well. I am going to just try and exchange the shirt the Lacoste boutique for a smaller size. I bought it at the Lacoste boutique with the friends and family coupon, and I'm hoping if I exchange it for the exact same thing just in a different size that they won't try and charge me the difference (since the coupon is now expired).... We'll see.

At my local Lacoste boutique, I was told that the shirts would shrink one size when washed and then dried.

yeah lacoste isnt that great a fit, but im the smallest size (3) and it's wide on me. maybe try the retro fit? it's tighter

I've got a couple and they haven't shrunken up at all. I bought them way too big too, and I was hoping they would shrink up too and they haven't

My BF went to the boutique today and they were cool with him exchanging it. He got a size smaller and it looks great on him. I just didn't think to have him try on a small when we were originally there since I figured it would be way too tight, since he's pretty muscular. He's going to be sure to line dry this one so it will hopefully not shrink.

I never tumble dry my Lacoste.

My girlfriend got me a Burberry polo for Christmas, and I -love- the fit. I recommend him trying it out.
