White tag and fakes

I had always thought that if jeans had the older white tag that was a good way to instantly authenticate them.

But brought up in another thread is this auction, which is obviously for a fake: http://cgi.ebay.com/SEVEN-for-all-ma...cmdZ ViewItem

If the sizing tag wasn't a fake one, I would have just thought they were real because of the white tag...

So whats the deal?

Hrmm i see, I just thought that the tag in the link for the auction seemed to be very close to the real one, even with slight discoloring that actually happens.

Most fakes (even the one you posted), are usually off in some obvious way.

The tag is off in an obvious way IMO. A big time telltale is the 3 has a curved top and not a flat top. The font is also off.

I thought the same thing. The font is way off.
A lot of times you can tell because the paper just doesn't look like the real ones.
Real white tags are very thick paper. If you check the font on a real one you can see why the one you mentioned in the above auction is pretty obviously fake.
