Electric razor, any suggestions?

My old electric razor fell apart the other day, so I am in the market to buy a new one. I really did not care for the one that I had, it was cheap and did not give me a close enough shave.

Does anyone use an electric razor? What type is it? Any reccommendations are appreciated. I can't use a regular razor on my legs anymore. I had a mishap with one a few years ago, and I can't bring myself to shave my legs with one anymore.

I don't know about electric razors but I think the veet razera (sp?) looks pretty foolproof. Never tried it though, so I have no clue. Personally I use the schick intuition and nick myself pretty consistently =P

It turns my stomach to use a razor on my legs now. I do use one for me armpits, but I shaved off a layer of skin once on the lower part of my leg. OK, I am gossed out all over again!!!

Oh, and I am not a big fan of depalitory creams. My hair is thick, so it takes way too long for the dait to dissolve and there are always stray hairs left afterwards.

hey hillkay. from what i've read, know, and experienced, electric razors at the moment can never be as close as a regular razor. however, some pointers for a closer electric shave:

* pull the skin tight and shave.
* the dryer the skin, the closer the shave.
* the quality of the shaver does definitely make a big difference! i bought a cheapy one, and it definitely performs poorly in comparison to another that was just 30% more. might as well just buy a really good shaver once...cost more, but it'll last and it's just a one-time purchase.
