extreme low rise?

ok, so i just got a brand new tattoo on my hip, and i'm thinking about picking up some scandalously low rise jeans to show it off... when i wear my zathans without a tight belt, it shows nicely, but i'd like to try something different... men's designers seem to be heading towards higher rises lately, and even diesels are getting kinda baggy (or what they call "relaxed")

i know about brands like AMK, rufskin, and dsquared, but i don't know any stores that sell them other than online, and i'd rather try something on if it's a brand/cut i don't know already...

can any of you women think of any women's cuts that are rather low, but still wouldn't look absurd on a guy (ie, not TOO tight on the legs, and without a large flare)?

or can any of you guys think of something lower than diesel's zathan?

No help for you...but...

i'm getting it touched up on thursday, but maybe after that? it's xiu xiu related (a band that i'm basically obsessed with)

oh yeah, the other problem i have with most women's jeans is the back pockets... either they're non-existant, or they're entirely too small

diesel farco and diesel xrotucks are considerably lower than zathans
post #5 of 29
Taverniti ( run 1 full size small), Stitch's, some chip and pepper and the all time lowest of low Frankie B ( don't think a guy could wear them though). Hudson men's are pretty low too. Yanuk might look good on a guy, they make guy styles don't know how low they are though.

xiu xiu is available on Napster... can you recommend some of their best songs or albums?

are farco really that much lower? i tried them on in the store, and they didn't seem too low...

i know about the xrotucks, but they're impossible to find for a reasonable price... i'm NOT spending over $200 for used jeans... it's just... wrong

i just wish diesel made the cherone without that ugly waistband... and maybe slightly larger pockets

thanks for the other suggestions though... now i just have to find a store where the salespeople are helpful rather than stare at me strangely for looking at women's jeans

i wouldn't consider this a best of, but for beginners, i would suggest "i broke up (sj)", "suha", "apistat commander", "fabulous muscles", "clowne towne", "bog people", the cover of "fast car"... those are the songs people seem to like the most at first exposure, i guess ... you're really asking the wrong person... i've been listening for far too long and i'm way too involved with them now

if you're willing to just pick up an album, i'd suggest either "knife play" or "fabulous muscles" as a good place to start

get RAME.

the pockets are really big, and the rise is low.

low low low.

i thought i luv the valley was one of the more "accessible" songs? oh well, im not even going to try to act like i know nearly as much as he does... just thought id make a nice little suggestion. =)

ok, i will try Rames when i get a chance...

and yeah, "i luv the valley (OH!)" is a pretty popular/accessible song from fabulous muscles... thanks for mentioning it...

and since i got the request earlier, here's a pic i took of the tat while wearing zathans... the section that needs to be touched up isn't really visible

lucky brand dream jeans have a 6 inch rise.

Xiu Xiu's New album is awesome! Definitely their best work.

I saw them live just over a month ago. The band was great, but it was at the worst venue I ever been to.

The treble just seemed to amplify way too much, and it just hurt my ears and I had to leave half way through the set because of it

Oh well, I'd buy their t-shirts too, but i don't know how far I can walk down the street with a witch on a broom stick with a dead baby stabbed into the broom.

haha, the dead baby is the best part of the shirt... although you can barely see it!

PS j - i think you'd like the rame 82n or 82m... maybe 81m?

Was just going to bid on jeans for man and he told me not to because the rise was a 9". They were Earnest sewn black and tan. He said 9" was super low for a man jean.
i think men's earnest sewn jeans actually fit pretty well... considering they're men's jeans and all. but of course, the women's jeans fit much better...

i forgot to mention, but you should try a pair of earnest sewn hefners. the wash's are nice, really japanese-y, dark, and they're pretty low too.

I'm kind of tired of you saying that "womens jeans fit much better"

I think it is misleading and confuses people.

You might consider saying something more informative like "womens jeans are much tighter and have much lower rises, which, in my opinion, is much better. By the way, I wear size 28x32 or so, if that helps you understand where I am coming from."

I wear more like size 32x32. I don't think womens jeans fit me "better." They fit differently than mens jeans, but mens jeans are made for men, and fit me much better than womens jeans. I don't necessarily want my jeans skin tight or super-low rise. Womens jeans are even lower rise on men because most men don't wear their pants pulled up all the way tightly to their crotch.

How is this tattoo gonna be shown if you are wearing a shirt anyway? aRE U LOOKING FOR SOMETHING FOR THE BEACH OR SOEMTHING?
im assuming either without a shirt or with a S or XS t-shirt that will undoubtedly show a bit of skin if short enough.

well, this IS a thread to help dr.strangelove, and not you... i know that he would be able to wear women's jeans, so therefore my statement applies to him. i dont wear mine pulled up so that it is tight around my crotch, actually... to be honest, my women's earnest sewns were baggier than my men's ones. you shouldnt base your opinion on women's jeans and their fit in general because you are a size 32. thanks

anyways, my women's antiks are actually pretty low too (as slimjim said), but still not as low as the rames. Rame, zink, and cherone are the lowest of the low... its almost ridiculous.

I don't think that RAME is that low...although maybe for a guy. Lowest rise I've ever trie dis on Hush, might be too girly though?
