i have over 30 R&R alone, not including other premium denim so i'm already above what tiff wants to set her limit at

I only started buying premium denim this July and by October I had 9! I used to laugh at people who spend $200-300 on jeans ok... Then I made a vow to not exceed 10 pairs by the end of 2006. So I kept selling and buying them and as of today, I have 8 pairs and 1 coming in the mail. I understand what it's like to feel that you have too much of one thing. I used to be a skirt collector and at one point had over 50 of them (that's a lot to me ok) and one day I just decided to keep selling them on eBay... got rid of about half of them, but of course I was still buying some during the time. I have about 30 now and still selling the ones that don't fit anymore. You just have to be very determined of what you want as a result!

I still think 9 pairs is a lot for me... sometimes I wonder why I need so many. That's it. We gotta boycott!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tif if you had them in a glass case so many other collectible figurines no one would think anything of it... b/c it is denim and jeans that are meant to be worn then I think some people have trouble with them as a collection.. I have been reading this post and have stayed away from making comments b/c I think truly this is a personal issue.. some people shop and collect alot.. is this too much? only that person can make that descision.. numbers of pairs may work for some people but they may never work for others.. this is a highly individual thing.. I believe that if your jean collection is hurting no one finacially or otherwise then it's not an addiction.. it's when compulsive shopping becomes a problem and effecting your life that it is a problem.. eveyone on this site is here b/c we like to shop for premium denim and based on other OT threads we like to shop alot. Are we so much more fortunate than other people out there.. probably. But while I may have a closet full of clothes.. that shouldn't be the judgement of me(or anyone else).. or how I give my time politically, clothing donations, monetary support , gifts for friends, volunteer time for chairity,, etc.. The biggest thing is this.. the only person you gotta love in this world is yourself and your family and the only person that opion matters in yourself ( and again maybe your family) IF you feel that you need to sell some jeans and your hubby supports you then do it.. and it sounds like you have started. I think the best suggestion was if they are new and you havent worn them in 2 months ( and that doesn't mean shipping and tailoring) then sell those.. and if there are pairs that you don't wear anymore due to size, or the way they fit , or you don't ike them as much then sell them.. If there are a special pair or two that fall into this catagory and you just can't part with them.. save them for your daughter.. If you truly love them and don;t want to sell them to get money for them you can always save em for a craft project.. I have seen curtains, shower curtains, and bedspreads out of the denim.. and while they might be the most expenive linens anyone has ever seen .. you would at least get to always look at them and enjoy them.. but seriously.. i am more then sure there are buyers here to buy the ones if and when you chose to depart with them ( don't forget I am a 29 hahaha) While your collection makes me super jealous.. and might not be the most practical .. what is excessive to one is not excessive to others.. and I don't think anyone on here should be sitting in judgement of another.. I am not saying anyone did this per se.. but I am saying that what works for one doesn't always work for another. This is not a one size fits all world

I´m totally with you! I´m not saying that all members here should own 10 pairs each, I´m just saying that I feel this is my number But I do belive that you have a problem if you feel ashamed and sick (like Tiffany said she did) whether you collect jeans, figurines, stamps, horses, cars, whiskey, wine or boyfriends, lol. I also believe that you have a problem if your near and dear ones complains about this.

I know that I´m going to piss some people of now but...I don´t think anyone here are judging but I do feel that some of the members doesn´t really see that this is a problem and that Tiffany is feeling blue. It seems that they are only interested in getting her jeans..I don´t think it´s fair to ask her about which jeans she´s thinking about selling, I don´t think it´s fair to rush her at all. But that´s just my opinion..

oh emma.. I know what you meant about your number.. and I think it that works for anyone then it is a great plan just like you said might not work for everyone.. But I think it's a smart plan to stick to if it works for whomever that may be

and I totally agree with you on that tif should sell her jeans when she is ready and not be rushed into selling any of them ...

and you are right as I said if someone feels they have a problem or it is effectiving the lives of those they love then yes it does become a problem and tif did indeed start this thread feeling this way..

now I want to know how to collect boyfriends LOL.. that is what I need to pick up next dont; ya think.. maybe I could have as many boyfriends as jeans.. ok that probably would not work but maybe a different one for each night of the week.. LOL.. only kidding.. but I loved that comment in emma;s post.. if I were collecting boyfriends I wouldnt be sitting around on any weeeknd nights lookin cute in my R&R that no one buy my kitty Riley sees.. hee hee

I was supposed to cut myself off once I got to 50, and I have 56 now. I've gone over and over and over my jeans to figure out which ones to sell, but I just can't find any I'm willing to give up (other than the ones I'm already selling). I have like 26 sevens, and there's no way in hell I'd give up a single one of them, but then I don't want to sell off my other brands because I like having variety - it's a vicious circle - but I think I'm gonna be banning myself from the forum and Ebay soon so I can get my credit cards paid off, and come back once I've done so

I don't think it's anyone else's place to tell you what you should or shouldn't do!! It makes you happy so screw anyone that tells you that you should do anything your don't want to!

I am very jealous of your collection for the sole purpose of having to do laundry less often!

i have luckily been able to control myself thus far.... whatever you decide to do dont feel bad about yourself. the fact that you are able to even recognize that you may have a bit of a problem on ur hands is something you should be so proud of.... and think of it this way, even if you dont sell all your "extra" jeans right away.....you know you always have that option....so its kind of like a "savings account"....just in jeans. You know that if you ever wanted to sell the jeans you could, so just take your time and decide because its not like your losing money, you've just put it away for a while... (ie. rebecca bloomwood in 2nd shop a holic book....yes i kno im slightly weird

I say get rid of all your white jeans-its fall/winter right now so its really not the season for them...that subtracts about 10 pairs right there
