my left eye has the double lid & my right eye doesn't really, so it's a bit of a challenge to get them even when applying shadow, but this is how it looks:

T-bird, beautful eyes! I'm going to try the smokey eye look tonight. I also have a pair of cheapy false eyelashes I got from Shoppers to try for tonight. Hope my makeup doesn't melt tonight

I usually find really soft kohl pencil and smudge very gently.. and thick mascara.

I thought the title said monkey eyes when I first read it. I was like who wants monkey eyes! haha
I am not asian but I can't do smokey either. I have green eyes so I heard that I should do the smokey eyes with a purple grey shadow or brown shadows. I think I need to go to the makeup counter and get help but sometimes they make you look crazy.

for eyeliner that wont run (and I have really oily lids) I highly recommend Styli Styl "flat liner 24" and only cost a mere $7.50. Though it doesnt stay on for 24 hours like advertised, but it lasts me a GOOOD half day!!
