need some new shampoo/conditioner

Thread Starter
I cheaped out and bought some Tresemme from the drugstore and it is absolutely terrible! It leaves my hair dry, frizzy and looking like straw I need some recommendations for any good shampoo and conditioners....but I don't want to break the bank
post #2 of 46
Hmm, Inner Science believe it or not is really great. It's about $7 a bottle and makes your hair feel like silk. Also the whole John Freida Brilliant Brunnette/blonde etc line works well.

I actually have Tresemme right now, my mom bought 2 huge bottles and it is truly terrible.

Have you tried K-pak by Joico? It's higher end but not too expensive?
K-pak by Joico is amazing! It does wonders for my damaged and chemically treated hair. Its not too bad as for price. I buy the duo for $40

oh forgot to mention that the bottles are 1L each and last me forever!

kerastase(loreal) is the best money can buy. even if i switch i always come back to it. loads of types depending on hair type

Ya if you shop around you can get some sweet deals! Especially at those little salon stores in the mall.

The K-pak Reconstruct treatment smells sooo good and works wonders.

i'm using brillian brunnette as well and i love it! it always leaves my hair shiny and soft. the stuff smells so good too! my mom uses infusium and that works pretty well too. whenever i run out of mine i use hers until our next target trip, and it really does condition well!

I know, it's soo good. I have the smoothing balm and finishing spray, it's awesome!
I think it has got to be the best for making my hair feel silky and soft besides PUREOLOGY.
PUREOLOGY!!! It's expensive but SOO WORTH IT!!! i have been using it for 2 or more years and can't live without it. it's best to get the liters and they last quite a while.

I use Pantene Restoratives....they smell soo good and leave my hair silky! Before I was using Joico which costed me an arm and a leg and I hated it! My hair was pretty dry and dull! But it's been almost 2 weeks I been using pantene....and I can totally tell the difference from Joico

and don't use MATRIX hair products! my friend used to work at pure beauty and told me never to get those because they are synthetic (?) or something and they dry out your hair.

I know, all you need is like a pea size amount and it lathers like crazy. I have never felt my hair so silky before. SOOO AWESOME! lol

Amazing how excited you get over shampoo...it's just that good.

didn't you just get your hair cut & colored? For me after I get a color, I HAVE to get and use a deep conditioner for a couple of weeks. I <3 B & B Deeeeeeeeeeeep Treatment. And I use their color support. It has really helped with conditioning big time for me and helped maintain the color.

I had another thread about the color support, it is $29 for 1L. Not too bad when you consider the size and quality of the product.

Also I a HUUUUUGE believer in a defrizzer, I have used John Frieda Frizz Ease forever. Pretty much anyone with any type of hair can benefit from that type of product. And almost every line has one now. I have used the above, B & B, and Pureology. They are all pretty good, and seem the same to me.

That's weird that you say that Matrix is bad for your hair. That's all I use and I love it. I was taught (in beauty school) that Pantene is horrible for your hair. When you use it it's awesome, then you stop and your hair gets F***ed up. That's what happened to me! I swear by Matrix Biolage. Maybe it just depends on the hair type, who knows!

I use Bumble and Bumble Creme de Coco. I leaves your hair so soft and shiny and it smells great!!!

Maybe because I have pretty agreeable hair, but I use Neutrogena T-Sal (otherwise I have serious serious dandruff) and Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine conditioner. And if not the Neutrogena, then just Head & Shoulders.

Thermasilk shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair does wonders for my hair. I like Finesse conditioner as well. As for conditioner, I usually leave it in my hair for at least a minute and wash it off, leaves my hair so soft.

Also, I love Chi Silk Infusion. It smells great. You use it on damp hair, before you blowdry and that protects the hair as well as keeps it soft. I gave it to my aunt after she got a really bad perm that left her hair really dry and frizzy and now it's her HG.

I agree that TERAX is awesome- especially if you have curly and or frizzy or flyaway hair.

I am also a huge fan of Aussie Deep Moisture? Shampoo and their 3-Minute Miracle Reconstructor Conditioner. I have used several different shamp/cond and this is one constant.

The new Herbal Essences shamp/cond are really good too- I use the blue one for moisture- it smells delicious and does the trick!

i use dove. i'm getting sick of it, it does nothing.

anyone have recommendations for fine hair with split ends?
I've been using Lorea' Vive (Style and body infusing) and it's okay. If I let it air dry, it'll pouf out, and will be slightly wavy, but if I sleep on it or blowdry, it does retain it's shape longer. I also use that Ganier Fruitrise stuff for after I get out of the pool to prevent major damage on the way home.
