I would have to leave work early so I am debating whether or not its worth it.

Please go... and make a scene if they are not real! :P

I feel like i need a loud mouth to go w/ me in case they are fake! I am so bad at that stuff!

Just wear a real pair and say hmmm these look QUITE a bit different.
Uhg...I wouldn't be able to go if I were in your shoes...I would get in a fight with the person who was throwing it about the jeans and they would hate me. Tell all your friends if they want fakes they can get them much cheaper on ebay...at $85 they can actually get real jeans.

I've heard nothing but the worst about jean parties. All sizes available in those brands spells F-A-K-E in my book.

I really don't know what to do. I don't want to waste my time going, but at the same time, I don't want to miss out on somethign real. NOt to mention, I dont even know the person whos party it is. My boyfriend saw it on someones facebook and passed it along to me.

One of my friends said she knows someone who went once and they were real. But I don't thinkshe would be able to tell real vs. fake anyway.

$85 a jean sounds too good to be true...never heard of that so can't really give my opinion, but if you go, let us know...

I would totally raise a ruckus...

i went to one a few months ago assuming they'd be alright because it was a friend's cousin who was holding it. it wasn't a shock when i came to find they were all horrible fakes! so obvious that another friend of mine who's a denim noob noticed as well! the sad part is no one else did, even my friend who's the host's cousin. i was wearing a pair of real COH that day and many of them didn't even notice. i didn't have the heart to break it to them though... but i'm sure the host knew exactly what she was doing!

as for this denim party.. i think it's already kinda odd it's advertised all over facebook. i say don't waste your time.

Only go if you don't have to be really inconvenienced (leaving work super early and possibly getting into trouble). Jean parties sound as suspicious to me as "purse parties"...

Although I vote that the entire HF should throw a great big jeans party and bring all our denim to trade, exchange, and sell to each other, hehehe
post #16 of 39
Are you kidding me? Of course they're fake!

Not to mention illegal. How many "Jeans Party" threads have there been on HF? Do those brands even sell the wholesalers? Ever?

The reason I was double checking was b/c I know there are those traveling jean fairs that come around to universities and they are REAL.

True, but not for $85. If wholesale on Diesel jeans is around $75-$80 a pair, I really doubt they would be authentic for $85.

Unless they were big time factory seconds, or damaged goods.

I wouldnt waste your time personally. Every time there has beena thread abou this, they always turn out to be fake..As MDG1976 mentioned..
def. sounds fake. i wouldn't waste my time b/c it doesn't sounds like a legit company like underground denim

Sounds fishy to me!! One thing my friend did do is throw a jeans party where all her friends bring their own jeans that they don't wear anymore and put them on display. Each person brought like 3-4 pair in all different sizes and we would trade or sell. We had wine and cheese and came home with new jeans!! Just like we do here, but in person!!

For all you who say "DEFINITELY FAKE" ..think again.

I went to one at James Madison University-all brands, nothing too great and $85ish was the price.

It's not like theyre $40... don't jump to conclusions so quickly.

This is an interesting thread because my college is hosting a "Charity Denim Event" tomorrow on campus. It says that jeans are up to $100 CAD (about $87 USD) and 50% off retail if not more. They're selling CoH, 7's, TR's, and Juicy Couture clothes, and all proceeds go towards a scholarship for female University of Toronto students. I'm weary that they'll be selling fakes but then again, it's for charity which makes it difficult to make a fuss about. It certainly doesn't make it okay in any way. In fact, I would be more than willing to believe if they were indeed fake that the organizers would be unaware. Anyhow, this is totally off on a tangent so I'll stop!
The one I went to was a charity event as well (for a sorority)...no fakes. Just not many in all sizes...
Ohhhh!!! This is being held by a sorority too! This is starting to sound hopeful. Although I wouldn't really know where to start on how to differentiate between real and fake.

Ugh.....I went to one of these this summer! I went with my sister because it was at one of her friend's houses, and she told me not to say anything,......I wish I would have! I just gave the lady selling jeans and handbags a nasty look when I left! The worst part was that the seller was an ex-cop!
