So I shipped out something for a buyer right... this something is really really really expensive. We're both in California, and my normal experience, priority in the same state, 1 day or max of 2 then it will get delivered. Now, I printed the shipping label on the 26th (Thursday), but i didn't have any time to drop it off until the 28th (Saturday). Until today, the 6th, it still has not been delivered yet.

Like I said, I never request insurance because we are relatively close (like 6 hours driving) and it's PRIORITY, so i thought, no problem, it will get there Monday or Tuesday. It's Friday now, the buyer is obviously UPSET. What do i do, what do i do?

Total value of the package is 3k and i sold it for 1,500 shipped.... OMG i don't know what to do

Do you have delivery confirmation?

I have heard of people not being able to send stuff that was printed days earlier..
Those should be there by now...
Wow.. I would have gotten insurance for SURE.

the only thing i have is the delivery confirmation

i just called USPS and they said they don't have any other information about it

i have to wait 14 business days

i really need help.. i did ship it out

Did you hand it to someone or drop it off?
Did they physically scan it?

and always do that... i brought the package in and i gave it to the lady and she is the manager of that post office too. She asked if it's ready to go, i said yes. So i thought that would be cool enough

isnt insurance the buyers responsibility?

was the transaction made through paypal and sent to a confirmed address?

did you keep the receipt with the tracking number on it?

There is not a whole lot you can do at this point. Go back and ask the manager if she remembers you coming in and your package never got to the buyer.

*If* you sent the package, why on earth would you not insure merchandise worth so much money? I would never in a million years ship out 3,000 worth of anything without insurance.

there is nothing you can really do until 14 days is up, then they can do a search on the package.

i completely agree with this. in the future i would always insure something this expensive, so worth the extra couple of bucks!

what I think is that it's your fault and if the buyer doesn't receive his package you should refund him...

oh man that totally sucks.

maybe with purchases this big, you should send with with sig confirmation & complete step by step tracking. maybe even use UPS or FEDEX.

im so sorry this happened to the both of you.

yep thats what will happen.

If the package doesn't arrive the seller is at fault. Plus you would loose a paypal dispute anyways. You said you purchased delivery confirmation. For items over $250 you must ship with signiture confirmation in order to be covered by paypals seller protection program.

Not to be repeative but you really should purchase insurance on any thing that is a greater value then you would want to lose. Whether or not the buyer requests it, if the buyer is your best friend or they live right down the street from you. Stuff gets lost and stolen all the time. You can't rely on the post office to deliver every single package and in the cases that they don't you want to make sure you can get at least some restitution from them.

Please everyone take some time to read over my dispute guide. It will seriously help you. These problems can easily be avoided.

The buyer will definitely get her money back b/c I am the paypal account holder, and paypal has already taken $1500 FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT and placed a hold on my paypal account. So please, relax.
I do have feedback here and 100% pos. on ebay. (sorry, not mad at anyone, just myself).

^^ because I had a zero balance in my paypal account, and to Paypal, it looks like I'm the seller since the amount was sent to my account.
