Body image issues on HF

I just have to say something...every time someone shows pics of themselves in their jeans, they say things like, "I apologize for my huge butt," "I know I look fat," etc. I've only been on the site for a month, but I have really started to notice some serious body image issues. Why are you apologizing for your body? Who are you answering to? Just some thoughts.

I would post pics of myself in my Sevens (and I probably will), but I might induce nightmares with the size of my booty. And I'm proud of it! My point is this: don't apologize for your body. Just be comfortable with it. And I guess that's better said than done, but I think it's important to try.

Not everyone is comfortable with the body they have.. I try to lose weight, but its hard.

I couldn't agree more Please post pics of your booty. I'm jealous.... I have the Asian flat ass syndrome. I lost 36 pounds and its even flatter than ever before!!!

Isn't it sad? Most women in general have poor self image issues. I think its the worst with white girls. The hispanic and black cultures seem to embrace more womanly curves from my observences.
Anyhow, I think most of the ladies who say those things like "please excuse my giant ass" really do believe that about themselves. Also, some are probably trying to gain reassurance that they are in fact not fat.
It really is sad. PLEASE post your pictures. Its good to see a wide variety of shapes and sizes. I wish more people could appreciate their bodies too.

umm yeah. i had no real body image issues but seeing sz 24-26 people all the time (media, HF, Hollywood, etc)makes me feel like a fat cow. it's my problem, but still...
i am a sz 6/8 for gawdsake!
oh and i do think women look cuter/sexier/hotter with some curves.

I am not happy with myself but it doesnt matter even if I weighted 100 pounds I still will have a wide butt so losing weight wont fix my problem oh well

I don't really like my body either. I am pretty happy with it, but there are some things that I'll always hate. However, I consider myself a work in progress; I'm always changing or working on something!

^^I don't think that's it at all, at least not in my case. In my mind, I think that if I say it first, then if someone is out there looking at my booty thinking, "She is so fat. Why is she posting her booty on this forum?" then they will know that I KNOW I am not perfect too. Also, it's nice to get compliments when you are unsure of how your booty looks.

It took a WHOLE lot of courage to post my booty that first time, too.

Does that make sense?

Yeah, I know it's not easy to be comfortable with your body. When I was younger, and I wanted to be skinny, but as I got older, I realized that people were paying for the body I was born with. I don't think I've ever spoken with anyone who was 100% satisfied with their bodies. It definitely takes work. And, like someone posted earlier, black and Latino cultures embrace curves. But once again, being comfortable is difficult. I will post some pics of my booty!

Most people posting pictures online (except for superfuture!) are fishing for compliments... really, have you ever seen a negative comment on someone's image here?
