why cant people like you understand that fashion is about more than just making you look rich and/or fuckable? seriously, dont let hollywood cuntresses dictate your views on style. not everything has to be embellished with studs and adorned with logos to look as if its worth a "grande" (its grand, by the way). clothing doesnt always need to be worn "fitted" either, unless you're like, italian trash and always want people to notice the veins in your arms or the outline of your dick. basically, what im trying to tell you is, open up your mind! pick up a book on the subject (and while you're at it, a dictionary, where you can look up the word ostentatious)!

hows that for a contribution, jetsetter?
I had this huge post, but I decided against it. I'm sorry for being rude, that was uncalled for. Also, for future reference... I don't have anything but jeans adorned with logos in my closet. (I believe in functional but pretty clothing... think Coco Chanel.)

Oh and I don't have a little dog, though I would like one... and I don't refer to myself as Divo, I prefer the word "Queen" on those rare occasions.Thank you. Have a nice day.

I've actually ever worn a Toga once, it was nice but quite cumbersome. And really hard to dance in... but ideally, maybe if I ever decide to do drugs or something so I wouldn't be self concious... I would love to spend a day around campus tramping around in my cowboy boots (with heels... oooh maybe? give that a try), running shorts, and a long flowing cape made of chiffon that drags on the ground... and a burger king crown and an old school green ranger knife/dagger thingy. My life would be complete.

some people think its ridiculous to throw down more than $40 on a pair of jeans, since you know, jeans are also available at target for $19.99 and under! so you're really not in a place to judge another persons spending habits (without being completely hypocritical), considering your ass is sitting in a pair of $200 jeans.

but yea, sure, we're all entitled to our opinions. a "30 year old" cardigan to you is one of the most beautiful pieces of the season to me.

I know I was being hypocritcal, I was slightly upset but I doesn't take me long to see how ridiculous my post was. I apologize.

And I'm actually sitting in a pair of $198 dollar jeans. You were close, but off.

csrip +1. We should just stop assuming things of others, especially passing down judgments, when we do not know anything about their life, nor what they think.

ann demeulemeester is my favorite designer, what can i say...

she's wearing about $9000 worth of tissue thin silk. my friend refers to these models as "vagrant whores" , and im sure most people think they look ridiculous. i dont!
I'd probably use the term "haggard ho'," but that's only because I love alliteration.
I personally wouldn't call her a "vagrant whore" just... "death walking" or extremely emaciated and needs to eat a cube of butter. I wonder what Adriana Lima, or Alessandra Ambrosio, the VS models would look like wearing that outfit... or what it'd look like with Selita's walk.
fashion is art. only those who appreciate art can appreciate fashion in different forms.

just because you wouldn't wear it or hang it on your wall, doesn't mean it's not beautiful.
Fashion is art. And thank god not everyone dresses the same because then my beautiful city of Portland would look horrendous... I have an opinion on what people wear, and they have an opinion about me but in the end it all comes together to create an atmosphere. And art is subjective/relative because there's a point where I personally stop calling things art. Like when someone shits on a canvas and hangs it in a gallery... or if I put a dot in the middle of a paper and peddle is as fine sophisticated art, ya know? And I'm not a fan of Jackson Pollock.
Jackson Pollock was a genius. Look at the man's history and you'll understand his art.

As subjective you might think it is, people like him are at the cutting edge during his time, expressing and creating the nuances of the time perfectly.

Picasso was the same with minimalism. Right now we are in a minimalism age--just look at any Ikea catalogue, and compare it to Victorian times.
