My first attempt on an origional hem~opinions please!

Ok, so I pulled out some gap jeans that I will never wear and practiced on them. I know it will work better on jeans with a little distressing but let me know what you think.

is that a zig zag stitch on the interior of the hem, its not a surger right?

Its a stitch that my machine had that has an edge on the right side. I wish I had a surger but this is close. I was suprised!

i will get a surger soon, i've been wanting one forever. your edge stitch looks really good & should prevent it from fraying. looks really good!!!

THANK YOU !!! I mean it. I can sew but was afraid of doing this for that cheap unfinished look you get without a surger. But I think it looks pretty good. I have seen others that I think mine look as good as. I hope!! LOL!

Yeah, those look great! Better than some of the hem jobs I've had done by so-called "professionals"! You should start your own mail-order hemming business!

Thanks guys! Well, I went ahead and did it!!
I hemmed my lily sigs yikeesssssssssssssssssss!!!



I gotta tell ya, I would never have done this without finding this site! Thanks to all of you!!!!!!!

Thank you, I am still obsessing that I could have done better or the stitching is too close, I am driving my DH NUTS!!! LOL!! I had never heard of keeping the origional hem till I found you guys and I think I am still getting used to the concept.

This is how I hem all my jeans, good job! It is scary to do such expensive jeans yourself. Think of all the money you will save!
