Wow, i hope they fix them for you, because if those were my jeans i would have raised hell and probably would have hurt the tailor for messing them up.......

oh man.. sorry to hear 'bout the crappy alteration job.

i never knew there'd be such incompetent alteration places..

thank goodness i've found places i'd go back to.. i'd weary of new places unless someone recommends them to me.

well you're really lucky they have that sign up, and there's no "up to $100 value" or anything.


you'll get your $530 back regardless, since it's policy, it just may take awhile.

then you can go and get your real size.

most tailors are dumb. they just assume "well if this is what he wants then we can't control how the outcome is going to look". they never consult with you unless you ask them first. also most tailors think that 'jeans are jeans' which couldn't be farther from the truth cos they're really not. in fact i can't stand anyone who has ever told me 'jeans are jeans'. anyway i hope you get your money back cos it looks as if they f**ked you over with that repair. as someone said previously taking them to small claims court might not be a bad idea.. im sure they'll volunteer the money at the sheer mention of it. if they don't reason with you, then just go straight to the courthouse and file a claim. they'll hear about it soon enough.

well believe it or not I did pay for it..and they charge me 55 for the waist and leg lem the leg hem they did it perfect, but the waist as u can see they fcuked it up...and I didnt have chance to pick up the jeans today coz i got tied upw ith other things but I dont really care how they fix them they said they will sew the threads again wiht 4 threads...and I told them its a joke the say they did to my jeans..and I will not take them back im just gonna get my money for my jeans,.

Those jeans do look pretty sad, the slant will probably make your butt look lopsided or something. However, I do agree with whoever said that you should have just waited and gotten them in the right size instead of trying to alter them, because it's never the same!


In any case, it's not 530 total for that ONE pair right? If they were to pay you back for one pair shouldn't it be like half of that even for retail?

Out of curiosity, where do you go? I'm looking for a new place, b/c the woman that used to do mine has increased her prices to a whopping $15 for Euro hem (used to charge me $. I feel like I'm getting ripped off now. I'd do the whole glue-hem thing, but I have way too much excess material and it looks funny.

Thats because its one of the latest styles and also because we get nailed by the government big time for bringing in things not made in Canada. Therfore about a quearter to a third of the markup is just to cover duties, tariffs, ect..

I had a tailor do the exact same thing to a pair of my SFAM's once. Luckily, they were only $150 jeans and I'd been wearing them big for about a year, so it didn't kill me to see her crappy work on the butt. Just the same as what they did to yours, dude. I guess they just think it's the fastest way from A to Z and snip right down the middle. Mine look funny so I almost never wear them except to the grocery store or someplace stupid. And forget about ever selling or trading them -- so there's even more money gone. Hate to bring you down more. I know how it feels though.

You may have to go to small claims court (Canada has something similar, right) b/c they'll probably squeal like a pig when you try to get the $$$ out of them.

Acutally in North America, we have NAFTA. Anything made in the USA should not be tariffed. That being said, I don't know the % of it being made in the USA. I know its assembled there, but I don't know where the material etc.. comes from.

That aside again, Diesel which is COMPLETELY foreign (not made in North America at all) is marked up as much as TR here (usually over 30% after currency conversion). I think its probably a decision made by the distributors so that Canadians will shop in the USA instead of Canada

well the update on this one is...I went there and I told them that they ruined my jeans and I explained it to them that other tailoring place frumt he side on ure jeans NOT on the middle and they said sorry,a nd they said they will fix them and I told them I dont want them fixed coz they ripped the original stitching...so they said they will triple the stitching,a dn they said well see if I like them after they fix them...so I didnt get a chance to go there yet coz i was really busy this weekend but when I go back there tmrw imma tell them I dont want them just gimme my money back frum the jeans.....ill keep u guys updated!

I agree with Renee on this, although no tailor in their right mind could think this looks ok. I'm sure they probably dont get a lot of jeans that cost 500 bucks, so they just did what they thought you wanted. Probably didnt want to argue b/c then they would be out $. I dont know if you would win in court b/c technically they did what you asked them to do (regardless of the fact they look horrendous.)

like i said, you shouldn't have to give the instruction "please don't butcher my jeans" in order to be satisfied.
