MOVIE WAS FANTASTIC, RIVETING, SAD, EMOTIONAL, ENTERTAINING, GUT-WRENCHING. This is the only movie other than Gladiator that made me want to cry in the theater. It was such a sad, and touching movie. This is the movie that will make a grown ass man cry. EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE THIS MOVIE. It was so well made it was scary.

What ruined the movie was the idiotic parents bringing their children to see it. THIS IS NOT A KIDS MOVIE. They do not fully understand the horrors of innocent life lost. There were about 10 kids in the movie. One little girl started crying. This movie is like a lazy parents way of teaching their kid about 9/11.

When the screen faded to black it was complete silence in my theater. When the movie ended, everyone walked out in complete silence. We all just looked at each other with sad looks on our faces.

Mind blowing what this movie will do to an audience.

Chills will run up and down your spine.

You foreigners should like it also. It is not the usual American movie with a happy ending. The movie will however make you want to kill an Al-Qaeda member if you are American.

I would definitely check it out it I were you.

I would love to see it, but my boyfriend is adamant on boycotting it. He's from the eastcoast.

Im INCREDIBLY emotional today and I wanted to go see this with my husband. I'll probably be bawling my eyes out.. Im not usually a crier at movies either.

It'd be better if 93 actually hit the ground...

I'd suggest you should watch the documentary "Loose Change". It's on Google Video. Or you can buy the DVD.

93's a bit iffy. The situation, that is.

Anyway.

They're playing off a tragedy for success... Doesn't that cheapen it for you?

It happened. The real thing. Why do we need a movie about it?

Mgras I kinda agree.. If one of the people were my family member I would probably be upset that hollywood was bringing out a movie to make money on on something that was such a huge tragedy.. I think it may be a little soon, the wound still a little raw..
But I think most of the family members were ok with it? I think I heard that somewhere.

Are you serious? The documentary you are talking about it a pile of conspiracy crap. There is more then enough evidence, including Osama's own words to back up that there were no planted charges or any of the other crap out there. Are you seriously suggesting that the elements of the US government staged a massive attack on US soil to justify a war against Iraq?

Also, I believe most of the profits are going to charity.
Here are a couple of reasons why we need a movie about it. People tend to think that evil is something imagined.

I would be ok if I had a family member on board....Ive only seen the trailors but it looks like the movie glorifies the passengers and gives them the heroic status they deserve

i want to see it, but does the movie portray the passengers breaking into the cockpit?
according to wikipedia:
The 9/11 Commission found from the recordings that, contrary to what many have believed, the passengers did not succeed in entering the cockpit before the plane crashed.

Id be very happy if the proceeds were going to some good cause and not just some producers pockets.

excellent point about the movie proceeds......we can only wish

i also want to see this movie which i hear is very good.

obviously it's a little contoversial as to the timing and content of the film but people are always going to disagree on matters regarding that....i also feel that this might have been more appropriate at the 10 year mark instead of now but lets face it...in this day and age if there's a demand for something you're damn right someone is going to exploit it without wasting any time.

Leave it to the foreigners to come up with conspiracy bullshit. There is no way in hell the US government would massacre its own citizens. I dont care how much you hate Halliburton and Bush, NO WAY. I believe the passengers must have been able to get into the cockpit, otherwise why would the hijackers crash it? There must have been some fighting, otherwise the hijackers could have just kept flying.

We face a truly brutal enemy, and this movie shows them for what they are.

yeah, i don't care how much people hate Bush. there's no way he would plan an attack to kill 3,000 American citizens. im sorry, but it's just a vicious conspiracy started by the ABN's (anti-Bush nazi's).
anyway, as for the movie, why exactly did they portray the passengers as hero's? i can understand the firefighters and police officers who responded to the attacks but the passengers.. to be quite blunt.. were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Because they stopped that plane from flying into the White House.

for example, how did so many of the passengers on this plane call their loved ones w/ their cell phones? the documentary points out that you get practically 0 reception in the air.
unless of course they all happened to use the airplane phones.. but i thought it was reported that they used their mobiles... anyone know for sure?

Much of what happened on the plane has been reconstructed from the many phone calls made by passengers and crew, mainly through cellular phones. Ten passengers and two crew members made calls after the hijacking began. This was in marked contrast to the other three planes, where few phone calls were made. It has thus been possible to assemble a detailed yet incomplete picture of what happened on board through these calls.

I agree that it is interesting that so many cell phone calls were made on this flight, but few cell phone calls were made on the other flights.

Ok, I just got back from the movie and I was on the verge of tears multiple times. I stifled it so as not to look like a fool..

It was touching and heart wrenching when they showed the people calling their family members and I got chills when they showed the planes hitting the towers (as I always do) I've probably seen the planes hit the towers a thousand times and it still gives me chills...

Also, I highly recommend the documentary by the Gedeon Naudet called 9/11 the filmmakers commemorative edition.
its the only video of the first plane hitting the towers and it shows everything from the firefighters going in the towers and all the madness.. It will affect you.

Have you read the black box transcript? It's horrible. I don't think the passengers actually get into the cockpit, but their uprising makes the terrorists scared enough to say something like "flip it", meaning flip the plane.

And they praise Allah all the way to the ground.
