oooo that's not her aunt though. her mom's friend get's like a employee's discount, then gives it to my friend for free. so yes my friend gets them for free. but her mom's friend has to buy them, but then she gets the discount so its a little cheaper
post #29 of 73
I think you are in denial, everything about this sounds fishy. I HIGHLY doubt she gets them for free, a discount is believable...but FREE? Im not buying it. I think you should go and see it for yourself.

ok you guys aren't really understanding what i'm saying. i know i suck at writing but lets just add names to make it easier to understand. my friend's name is Carla, she has a mom who has a friend(sarah) who works at TR. sarah buys the jeans with the employee discout. then sarah gives it to carla. carla gets the jeans for free. do you guys get it now?

Very fishy to me too. Maybe a pair or two for $100 but "any pair of True Religions, Rock and Republic, and Paiges". No way. Too have that many jeans and Lacoste for dirt cheap (%50 off or more) they seem like fakes.

Free jeans? Hell, I think that I would work for jeans - the heck with a paycheck...

Ugh... I'm having a hard time buying into the "free jeans from TR". Is that unlimited jeans? I can't imagine that they would do that since they are SOOOO strict on who they even give accounts to - so you can work there (like sanding the Joey destroyed's for 10 hours a day) and you get to take one pair home a day or how would that work? Is there a "reject" bin they choose from if they get them for free? I'm having a hard time swallowing that. I don't even think that low-end jeans companies do that, do they? With the price margin of the jeans - you know - $429 for ASHBURY'S - they would just randomly give those away? It's a tough pill for me to swallow -

McDonald's makes you pay for your food if you work there... and that's a dollar menu... See what I mean? Maybe I've overthinking this in a business sense...

Maybe this is all legit, but I - like others - am having a hard time swallowing this huge pill!

Sorry...

Ditto

Hard to believe
It's like dream comes true ...free TR...ahhhhhh

It's hard enough to believe they get this great deal on TR, but also on Paige, R&R, and Lacoste? You must be young and naive. I have a bridge in Brooklyn I could sell you. My girlfriend's sister's uncle's mom work for the city and they get three free bridges a year.

Why would someone buy jeans and then give them to someone else for free?

If anyone is getting free jeans its because they are getting a 5 finger discount I would guess.
Pudding, this whole thing sounds super fishy. I wouldnt bite at it. Save yourself the hassle.

This is exactly the point! You are no doubt in denial over the entire issue. ( A friends', cousins', neighbors', aunts', brothers', grocers', lawyers', dog-walker...)Not quite sure how old you are, but you seem fairly young. Your father is correct. There are no free rides...Wholesale prices of TR at MINIMUM are about 80.00 a pair, AND UP! No one is going to BUY jeans, and then GIVE THEM AWAY for free to someone else to sell! It is not going to happen. TR does not give away free jeans to anyone employee or not.
Good luck, I think it is needed.

You know my hubby's sister kept trying to get me to go to her stupid "Real" purse party.
Called me and went on and on and on about how they are real and they just have little flaws etc etc.... she thought i should go cause she knows I like nice things ........ I keep insisting they aren't real and I don't need to go to the party to find that out. I see her and her "fabulous" sunglasses and purses and am like "ARE YOU FREAKIN SERIOUS" so I just nail her (my inlaws all hate me anyway) and finally she was like "they are high quality replica's"
WHATEVER!!!!! How stupid do you think I am!????? Do you even know what replica means? I listened to how she has all these real LV and Burberry purses, channel sunglasses etc for weeks and weeks!
Point of story........people are so flippin clueless, will believe and say anything AND nothing is free!!! Employee's don't get free jeans to then go sell to their family and friends. They would be fired in an instant!
Sounds like you know your stuff but I am with your father on this one! Wait til you have it in hand to trust it!
Good luck!

Agreed.

People belive what they want to believe. Whether it's that they can get real TRs for $100 or they really do have a chance at winning Powerball even though the odds are 140,000,000 to 1.

I think the X Files said it best, "Trust no one". Especially if they're trying to sell you something.
Pudding don't think people are jumping on you . They are really trying to help and care about you not throwing your money away! I am a trusting person too but will not be taken advantage of! If it sounds too good to be true it is!!!!!!
Your friend and aunt might really believe themselves they are on the up and up and that the person they are getting these from are legit, but something just doesn't sound right so be careful! The "connection" is getting too far removed and that is where the fishyness(sorry I am sure that isn't a word) comes in. Yes, your aunt and friend are honest and their source might be honest but not knowlegdeable and then their source could be the crook or scammer..... Just too many hands in the pot!
Hope that makes sense!

This is quite possibly true. Lots of people can't tell real from fakes. This is why so many known fake sellers on eBay have so much positive feedback.

the reason people give people free jeans is because there's something called gifts, presents, whatever you wanna call it.
