Anybody had success in stretching their 100%cottons?

My Panamas (rigid) are too tight through the thighs. Tips on stretching?
Tonight I put them on, sprayed them until moist/wet, and been wearing them for four hours now (remoistened them two times). They're drying now (still have them on)...They feel not much better.
What to do? Repeat tomorrow? They're sooo pretty...

Actually I have to lose some weight, but my thighs will most probably stay like this, they always do. So I really need to stretch the Panamas a little...

I've done it. Just try again & do some squats while they are wet, should work!

try washing them in cold, then putting them on while they're still damp, instead of just spraying them. Sounds upleasant, and it is. :P

And like wasntme said, do squats and lunges. It will work

Sitting on your knees, feet tucked under your bum, with them damp of course, works for stretching out the thighs!

You can TOTALLY stretch a lot of 100% cotton jeans. It works a LOT better with broken twill than with ringspun denim (most TR is broken twill which is why the stretch out like nuts). The easiest way in my experience:

Soak the jeans in lukewarm water. Get some glass bottles or other glass object. You could use metal too if you're worried about the glass breaking but they've never broken on me. Pull the jeans on and put the bottles or other object in the back pockets, front pockets, etc and then like do standing splits.

I had a pair of 100% cotton sevens which I couldn't even button up. I ran them under water and wore them until they were dry and I can button them now! It is reallllly uncomfortable after you wear them for hours but it works! You can blow yourself with a blowdryer quickly if you get cold, which you probably will.

i dont know if anyone else does this but i rinse them in alot of fabric softener and then wear them wet, it works great!

Thanks,y'all! You gave me some hope here! I'll try again.
Though with doing squats or sitting on my knees- won't that make the jeans baggy at the knees ?
BLM- if you can put ANYTHING in my pockets when I wear those Panamas, I'll stand in awe!

Jenn-- I was about to say the same thing-- if I'm trying to stretch jeans, it's because my HANDS won't even fit in the pockets!

Anybody else know about making the knees baggy? I'm making an attempt to stretch out my size 24 dojos because I just can't give them away. I need a bit more room in the thighs and the butt, but i don't want to make the knees bag up.

How many of us are hanging out in wet jeans right now? :P (just realized, that could sound SO sketchy....)

Get your true size...definitely don't size down, at least not for 100% cotton dojos.

Which Dojos are they?

About the baggy knees - I've read that some of the girls fole their jeans up above the knee to avoid the baggy knee problem. I've never had that happen though, I just make sure to iron the jeans well after they're completely dry to get rid of any creases.

They're tahiti dojos. They used to be huge on me...26.5" waist! They're stretching out pretty well I think...after 2 hours wearing 'em with the upper part dampened, boyfriend says I could wear them to school, so they must not be indecent any more.
