thats why theres inherent problem or difficulty in talking about trends because location, market, and the fashion category play a role in distinguishing whats the hot thing.
like for Diesel, camouflage and the military look is "hot" right now and while Diesel claims they dont follow trends, it seems very plausible that part of the reaosn they are pushing this look now is because its at the right time that the market (for Diesel customers) are gonna be receptive to such a trend.
most people (including HF people) wouldnt appreciate avante garde fashion and especially not wear it (even assuming that affordiblity wasnt an issue), it takes sometime for it to "appear" on the streets at a more regular basis and in a less conceptual manner before people start considering the possibility that its pretty cool.

Aipume, would you agree that the term "trend" has almost become a negative description in fashion circles? It seems like right now the trend is to be anti-trendy, if that sort of makes any sense.
Also this thread is highlighting one of my pet peeves lately around here, trying to start a flowing discussion on fashion is aikin to pulling teeth. I'm all for a sense of community, but it seems to be at a point where personal conversations are taking over what was meant to be broader and more flowing discussion of ideas.
I want to see more lists like talk_shows, MNep0509, staluckey, cheapmuthafkr, etc.
