i think i just bought some fake sammys

and these ones actually look decent. everything looks ok except for the back label - not stitched to the jeans in red.

i would have posted the hang tag but i left it at work. what do you think?
there is something about the horseshoes that don't look right to me. Also the stitching around the tag should be in 3 threads and red.

I don't know sammys too well but that is my 2 cents.
I've never seen that white tag stitching before. That sucks if those are fakes because to me, the sammy horseshoes don't look as bad as the fakes I've seen on ebay (the smaller and narrow-looking ones). Usually, it's quite easy to tell fake Sammy's from real ones because of the bad fake horsehoes.

Does this mean that the fakers are getting the horseshoe shape a little better?

I hope you didn't get fakes.

oh sheez, i'm pretty sure i did - look at this

Yeah, the Buddhas on the pocket lining look way off. They don't have any detail whatsoever.

I'm pretty sure they're fake too. Did you contact the seller?

yeah i contacted the seller. she takes refunds, thank goodness but she assured me through much email correspondance that they were authentic... go figure. OH WELL! just wanted to pass along the info... the fakes are getting better!

they actually fit really cute too

Yes, they are pretty gross...the horseshoe shape is better, but the overall stitching which is always the telltale sign is VERY bad on these...wash horrible too, and lets not even comment on the belt label!

seller replied still insisting that they are real as stated in her auction and purchased from a major department store AND therefore will not accept the return. i dont care though... i'm returning them no matter what.
i emailed her back, hopefully she'll cooperate.

Are you sending it back with Delivery Confirmation (or even better, sign receipt requested)?

Definitely do it that way!

yes definitely! thanks for the advice =)
how do you get a signature request? can you do this at the post office?
You have to fill out 2 forms in the post office (USPS). They're located where the DC labels are. Just ask them to be sure.

maybe she did purchase it from a dept store, but that doesnt mean they aren't fakes. the buddhas on the inside pocket & the outside tag look awful. i dont think they would look blatently fake to someone who wasn't a TR expert, though. the wash/stitching didn't scream 'fake' to me.

yeah, i'm giving her the benefit of the doubt - only crazy TR fans like us would know the difference because imo they are pretty darn good fakes.
i did tell her that she should try to get her money back. i knew it was too good to be true!!
maybe she'll be nicer if you show her the difference? like find another picture of authentic TR pocket lining and show her how glaringly wrong it is. Or point her to revolve so that she can compare the back tag. she might accept it easier if you also explain how some people return fakes to dept stores.

ok so i sent her pictures of her fakes versus a few of my own sammys and I asked her VERY nicely to give me her address so i can return them for a refund. she still won't budge! and she keeps saying that I should go to Bloomies to verify authenticity. i told her to take these back to wherever she got them and ask for her money back, especially since she stated in earlier emails that she still has receipts.

What is the next step?
tell her that you will file a claim with paypal and that you will report her to ebay and true religion for selling fakes and that selling fake merchanside is a crime. that outta wake her up!! If she still refuses, tell her that you saw a report on your local news about people selling fakes on ebay and that you will be giving them a call as well as your local police dept.

these damn counterfeiters really PISS ME OFF!!

Do you mean there should be 3 rows of thread for the stitching around the label?

Mine only have 2, oh no...

I would say that...and even if she does take the jeans back report her anyway. It would "prove" that they're fakes and that would also be taking a fake dealer off the "eBay streets"

joce08, how did this turn out? Is the seller starting to cooperate?

yea she RELUCTANTLY allowed me to return the jeans. I havent left feedback yet... i've been wondering how to handle it. She is TOTALLY convinced that they are real.

^ OR she's a total liar.

AWW Yes thats a tough call. You don't want to get a negative feedback saying you are difficult or don't understand the return policy (obviously made up) but at the same time, you don't want someone else buying fakes from her either!
