Be aware that most kratt models being sold currently are fakes, as this model has been long discontinued.
If you see a jean which is listed as cardiel, go to the diesel website to see what real cardiels look like. They have only one back pocket, and bucket-style front pockets. Also, they have no inner cloth tags.
If you see a jean which is listed as x-rotuck and does not look like the real x-rotucks listed on
http://www.honestwiki.com then stay away. Real x-rotucks NEVER have the leather diesel logo on the back beltline, nor do cardiels.
Many jeans purporting to be 'x-rotuck' and 'cardiel' which are in fact replicas have been spotted on ebay. WATCH OUT! If you want to see what a real x-rotuck looks like in terms of the SHAPE of the jeans, do an ebay search for
x-rotuck 80Q
The 80Q wash for x-rotuck has never been bootlegged to my knowledge. Notice the double top waistline buttons and the flare leg. Any x-rotucks missing these two key attributes are fake.
New diesels have a new-style patch on the back waistline with a D across it. YOU WILL NEVER SEE A RED STITCHED D ON THE BACK POCKET AND THIS PATCH AT THE SAME TIME! It's always one or the other.
A real seller will have diesels in every size diesel makes, most notably inseams 30, 32 and 34. If you see anything longer than 36 and this is on a tag, its FAKE. Diesel sometimes makes garments longer than 34 inseam, but then the inseam simply wont be listed. Also look for odd waist sizes such as 29, 31 and 33 which diesel DOES make. If you see a seller who has lots of diesels and always in nice sizes like 38x32, 36x32, 34x32, 32x32, and 30x32, be careful.
Never buy any diesel jeans from a seller in any of the following countries: Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Turkey or Bulgaria.
Finally, INSIST on seeing CLEAR closeup photos of the indian head tag and make sure that the metalic strip looks right (see the honestwiki link above for examples). Lack of this tag entirely is a dead ringer.
