is it just me or have i been noticing that the ebay sellers like the miami folks , air jordan, etc. dont have alot of the newer washes? they use to have the top washes when 772 and 82Hs were the craze but now it seems like they dont have alot of the cool washes of last season nor this season and not in the slim cuts like zathans and all...

Yea, i'm told it's getting more difficult for them to get hold of items now... good luck to hem though

ya..based on so much of the on going news that Diesel is cutting dealers i figured it could potentially effect the wholesalers who get authentic jeans since its more than likely that in order to get authentic jeans wholesale on eBay there's a "shady deal" somewhere along the chain...

I've noticed this too. Like someone else said diesel is cutting back on distribution, and heavily curtailing who they sell to. So it looks like for authentics you may be forced to watch constantly for the one-off kind of seller who themselves paid full price but who for one reason or another cannot return the jeans...

I'm having ALOT of trouble finding the new styles. I have checked 4 diesel stores, every possible boutique, all barneys, all bloomys, etc. Diesel has succeeded in making their jeans impossible to find. I have to wait till I go down to Europe to find some of the new styles. And trust me, If they aint out by now, you wont see them. The fall winter collection will start coming out in june, and thats not too far away at this point.

"A LOT." Anyways I've found if you ask the clerks they'll have a lot more in back than what they have out on the shelves. Last time I went they had a lot of xrotucks still and the zathan 84U which wasn't anywhere to be seen on the shelves...

Which ones were you looking for?

what this makes me wonder is how would we feel if we cant get diesels for 40% off via people like the miamisellers anymore? i know (since i started many of those threads) that theres definitely pros/cons for the wholesale ebay vs brick stiore debate and many have pointed out the fact that they arent near a diesel store, but what happens if you can still buy what you want via phone and the "random ebayer at full retail" as BLM mentioned...just at full retail price (200$+ including tax and shipping)?

I should have been more clear. I meant the random ebayer who THEMSELVES paid full price at a brick & mortar store but who may not actually GET full price when they sell them

haha true...but still if they are the only one out there with the item..i doubt they'll get full price cause its the ebay market now (not the diesel market), but with such a low supply, the demand would hike the price up more than what we are relatively comfortable with today in terms of wholesale prices.

Its not so much the styles i cant find, but the sizes as well. I was looking for 708, 84r and other farcos, but no one in ny or even in the us has them anywhere. I could wait till I go to europe this summer, but hey, I'm all for exclusivity and I welcome the inconvenience

i wont be surprise if denim gallery next year would go as high as 400$ with tax...considering the trend (and economy)...

the prices dont bother me one bit. There is also a rumour that Diesel has been going to discount stores and buying back their products. They really want to raise their image. It would make sense because there were some diesels at century, filenes and loehmans a week ago and now they are all gone. Good for them. It's about time.

i think its not even so much of "raising their image" but rather maintaining it as the popularity increases. theres gonna be alot more incentive to buy at the actual store because once you become a prefered customer you get discount vouchers and such which helps cut costs =)

well aipume, i don't even see them giving discount vouchers. i mean, a rich dude buying something on sale?!! J/K if someone can just run out real quick and pick up a $400 pair of jeans, i don't see them caring if they get 10% off.

actually its 15%...and no its not alot of discount but considering its on ANYTHING in the store...thats pretty sick and when you spend 2000$ (as you said the "rich dude") you save 300$...and you are on their preffered list so they call you when neat stuff comes out...

theres alot of benefits if you take the time to make a relationship...same goes for anything in life =)

i think more importantly than anything..it really narrows the gap between buying online and buying from a store. most...actually EVERYONE i talked to on this forum so far has more than one diesel jean...which if you can get some discount from a store...the prices come shockingly close to even sellers like dieselofmiami and all who mind you alot of his "top end" jeans have defects which he does point out but regardless you're still paying a hundred something dollars.

if you buy smart from actual stores, you'll be surprised how much money you can save...im not talking about getting that one in a million super sale deal...im talking about flat out going a "normal" path which anyone could do. i would write something about it on this forum and i have thought about it...because i would want to share my experiance, but sometimes i think some people here get over fixated on online buying for no real reason other than saving a few dollars in the short run but not looking at the long term potential benefits which in fact could end up making you save more time and more money in the long run.
