Because I wrote to him and he's nice and not a flippant punk.

what does flippant mean?..and why do you write to ebay sellers if you have no intention of buying anything? Seems a lil strange. I dont think I would ever respond to someone who says: "I see you sell authentic jeans, etc" Kinda creepy

you would respond because any one with good business sense would value all potential customers =P

For someone with umpteen graduate degrees your vocabulary is somewhat lacking.

I write to sellers all the time. I really dont care if you think its creepy. Sometimes I ask them where they found such nice jeans, sometimes I ask them if they have things in my size, or in a wash I'm looking for. If they have fakes I write to them and and them if they knew their jeans were fake when they listed them. Mostly I write to people who are selling fakes. Why do you care anyways?

my vocabulary lacks due to the fact that I grew up half my life in europe and didnt speak english half the time. However, I actually did receive a grammatical education, which is ever so rare for today's children.

About the sellers, what do you expect them to say when you email them. I would personally ignore any emails that werent specific to the items i was selling. If someone were to say: "hey, you sell authentic diesel jeans, bravo!", I would be like...uhhh..ok
