I'm answering my own question... I just got my sammy big t cords and YES they do run small too. I thought since they run small compared to sammy rigids (which run very big) I could get my usual size. not the case

I might have to sell my gray big t, s27.

that's good to know...

...that the cords run small, 'cause that's all I have in TR--one Sammy Big T (from Nordstrom, on sale, woo hoo, is that where u got yours?) and a pair of pink Joey's...
of course, i'll just HAVE to get another pair (non-cords) soon...
anyway, thanks!

i got my joeys on ebay from vipfashions, I think I might have paid too much for them. That's why I'm making myself fit into them no matter what! i feel muffiny

they run very small. at least 1 size small imo. i can take off the sammys w/o unbuttoning but with the same size cords i had to make an effort to button them up. they fit fine after buttoning them but i'm not sure if i'm going to keep.

I'm looking at a pair of Sammy Big T brown cords right now, which are 75% cotton/25% poly. Do people recommend I size up one size from my normal size? I do not own any TRs, so have no TR size reference, but if I'm *usually* a 29 in other brands, should I go for a 30 in these?

probably safe to go with 30s.

Thank you! People have mentioned these run small/tight--do you know where they are small/tight, like thigh, waist, hip, etc?
imo they are most tight in the thighs and a little bit tight in the waist. i have no hips so i can't comment on that .

Does the poly blend fabric have NO stretch of any kind, totally stiff?
i've only worn mine for like 10 mins so i cant tell. i'm planning to return mine cuz green is not my color.

no stretch at all

even by the end of the day!
Hi there,
I wear my Sammy cords all the time (well, i got 'em like 2 weeks ago and i've probably worn them 5 times already), and altho' the fabric isn't stretchy at all, they definitely were slightly (not a lot, but slightly) looser at the end of the day. But I think I may be tough on jeans, so...

I did notice them to be smaller in the waist area than other similar sized jeans..
they're awesome, tho', go for it if you can!

And did you size up one from your regular designer size?
Oh, and does anyone have a size 29 or 30 in the brown Sammy Big T cords? If so, can you do an upper thigh measure for me, and a waist?
antik,
I ordered a 28 & a 29 'cause I had read to size up... I did already have a pair of corduroy Joeys in 28 that are a little loose, so I thought the 28 Sammys would be okay, and they were, so i returned the 29s... I have 28 SFAM Dojos and COH Ingrids, but I tend to like my jeans a little looser..if they're too tight it makes me too distracted or something! But I think the majority of designer denim is meant to be worn tight (they always look nice on the models in product shots) or it all just ends up in baggy butt-ville...
good luck...you gotta get the Sammy cords!

Thanks, purr88. For reference, could you do an upper thigh measurement on your 28 brown cords?

For Sammy BigT Brown Cords, you might be OK with sz.29. If they were the Silver/Gray Sammy Cords, they run ridiculously small
post #23 of 24
so, you're saying the Brown Sammy Big T cords run more true to size? maybe if I fit into a size 29 Dojo, I can fit into a size 29 Sammy Big T cord, too?
