Reported ... I think you can get a better deal on these ... I got the exactly same Sammys a couple of weeks ago for USD 70 shipped to Germany, actual item price USD 54 also new with tags. Keep searching!

No, I just got a message from him saying "Are you stating that you don't want the item?"

I'm going to respond and say that I don't want to be a part of fee avoidance. It's not that I don't want the item, it's his crazy ass shipping fee and way of doing business on ebay that I don't want!

Here is what I just responded:

I am not saying that I do not want the item. My concern is that this is considered 'fee avoidance' by ebay's policy and that is not somthing I am comfortable in participating. I also sell on ebay and know that it is not $50 to ship an item anywhere via priority mail. I would be interested in the item if it was listed properly w/o the overly quoted shipping fee. Are you able to sell this item with a more standard shipping fee of $10? Even $15? I am also wondering where you got the figure for insurance? This is from the USPS website:

Fee . . . . . . . . Insurance Coverage
$1.35 ................ $0.01 to $50
$2.30 ................ $50.01 to $100
$3.35 ................ $100.01 to $200
$4.40 ................ $200.01 to $300
$5.45 ................ $300.01 to $400
$6.50 ................ $400.01 to $500

I don't see how $19 is possible? Again, I am interested in your item, but not interested in being involved in a transaction that violates ebay policy. I appriciate your time and attention to this matter. Thank you.

I think it's a valid contract Ship fee was clearly stated...

Plus these retail at $240. He'll still have to pay FVF based on $110. I can tell you I got my sammy crops so $200 so IMO this is a deal and a valid one at that...

here they are at revolve for $239 but they're sold out most places and hard to find so if I were you I'd just pay since you contracted to do so and there were no hidden terms but that's just IMO

I totally understand and agree that this isn't a horrid price for these. And I think I mentioned before that I was going to buy the light crops on revolve anyway, but I'm not super comfortabe in participating in fee avoidance either. I would be comfortable if we decided to drop the auction (using that deal on ebay where he gets his fees back) and then if he were to relist it with the proper BIN and shipping. . I don't have a problem with that.

Yeah but you were comfortable with the shipping fee when you contracted to buy. Sorry Tracy < I am just being devil's advocate! It's important to read all the terms before buying. I just know I wouldn't like a seller weaseling out of a K (contract) for me to buy just because they didn't like the ending price for example. I don't really know if it *would* be fee avoidance b/c Ebay is still getting the fee for a $110 item. It's not a 1 cent price and $100 shipping. Plus the price is fair with shipping so I'd honor my contract.

MrsK...I reported him also! Your letter was very well stated, and I agree with you 100%. He is ripping you off as well as the whole fee avoidance issue. I would not pay that shipping fee whatsoever...or the outrageous insurance...For that fee, those jeans should arrive via a limo and hand delivered by a tuxedo'ed delivery person on a silver platter...outrageous!!
PS I also looked at that auction last night for another HF'er, and warned that person to take a good look at that shipping fee...

That's why you read the auction terms first Maybe if you joined ebay yesterday and didn't see the shipping but otherwise....we are all adults here

I agree with you here...however 49.00 shipping and 19.00 insurance is EXCESSIVE, and there are no two ways about that!
