To get or not to get

sammys for 80 bucks shipped...???'

they are a size bigger than I think I wear but I could put them through the dryer cause they are longer.

I've never tried on sammy's though so I have no idea how they heck they fit.

Holy moly . . . I would, but that's just me! What size and wash are they? $80 shipped for a pair of Sammys would be a great deal, I think, but I know you don't like to pay above $70 or so. I guess it all depends on how big of a risk you're willing to take with having them fit!

Buy them!
And if you don't buy them and they are a size 26 - let me know!!
That's an awesome deal for Sammys! All the ones I've seen have gone for a lot more.
yes get them....I have never gotten a good deal in TR's

sammys run big... so if they are a size larger than what you'd normally get you'd probably be swimming in them. i need to size down except i can take off the 24 in dk premium w/o unbuttoning so now they are my 'relaxed' jeans.

IMO they fit SIMILAR to Dojo, but slimmer legs than Dojo, especially at the upper thigh...actually, really are a different than Dojo, Sammy have the trouser slant pocket, Dojo has regular jean pocket.

the sammys actually are not my fav cuz i got no butt and less thigh. i need slimmer cut jeans that is why i prefer joeys. i actually have 3 pairs of dojos and i like them better than the sammys because the butt area is like other sfam jeans and i have enough thigh to be ok in them.

Don't the Sammy's look bad on people with lots of butt though? I remember seeing the photo of JLo in a pair of Sammy's and she looked horrible.
yea sammys look good on girls with normal butt... not a jlo or a no butt person like myself
post #12 of 35
I love my Sammys! I like them more than all my SFAM and they fit perfectly.

I'm a no butt person too - or maybe that's a saggy butt person... I guess I just have to get a pair from a place that accepts returns!

okay, so I'm going to give you some measurements and I want you guys to tell me if you think I can get into a 26 sammy.

MY TIGHTEST JEANS
paige HH: 14 1/4 inches across waist (sit higher on the wider part of my hips), 9 inches across widest part of the thigh, and 7 inch rise.

MY BIGGEST JEANS (UNSTRETCHED)

AG Angel (size bigger than other ag's): 15" waist, 9 3/4 inch thigh, and 7 3/4" rise. by the end of the day these probably stretch out to about 10 maybe 10 1/2 inch thigh...

I haven't gotten any measurements.

hm... i happen to have my 24 sammys in front of me (and a measuring tape) and they measure 13 1/4" across the waist and 9" across the biggest part of the thigh with a 7" rise. maybe you need a 25. get rigid sammys you are not swimming in them by the end of the day.
i think it just depends on how you want to wear them. The reason ppl usually size down, I think, is because they stretch out quite a bit. But, if you get them slightly bigger, they'll be a looser jean/baggier fit and won't stretch out so much.

Personally, I look like crap in Dojos' too but I like my sammy's. I'm the same size in sammy's that I am in joeys and most sfam..they do get big after awhile...they actually fit kinda similar to a pair of A&F trousers I still have...

well, I think I've completely contradicted myself here, so I'll stop

no, not really. my parents HATE reselling. This is why I don't buy much on ebay. I would have already bought these if I knew I could resell, but I don't have that peace of mind at ALL.

His reponse to me:

The flat waist measuement is 14.5-15 inches across and the thigh is about 9 inches at the widest part when measured laying flat and facing foward. I measured the pants folded on their side right below the back pocket and it measures a little over 9 inches. I hope that is what you were looking for. It does get a little wider if you go up a little more. Anything else, please let me know. Thanks again!

okay--what do you think?

I got my Sammys in a 24 for a snug, fitted fit...I have tried 25s before and basically they were loose...they basically looked like I was wearing intentionally looser jeans...the only problem was that the waist was just too big, I could take them off without unbuttoning or unzipping them! In the 24s, since the waistband is so thick, I have to give it a little tug to get over my butt.

And I have NO butt at ALL and VERY tiny thighs...they have been a problem with many jeans for me before (especially Joe's)...so I need Seven A pockets or TR Joeys or R+R Roths to fit my thighs and butt. I posted pictures of me in my Sammys though, and I can tell you that the 24s are pretty snug in the thigh for me...my butt is just a lost cause

I didn't look at your measurements too closely...how do the Sammys measure up to your average jeans? I haven't seen how much mine shrink (haven't been through the dryer yet) but IMO Sammys look fine a little bit loose...as someone mentioned before, when they were skintight on JLO she looked awwwful.

darn I think these are too big. I'm just like you, tiny thighs which have been a problem (no SFAM bootcuts for me!) and Joes look bad on me. I also have no butt but unfortuneately DO have hips that are disproporainate (whatever) to the size of my thighs. My waist measures 24", but because my hips are not straight (they measure 34") and my thighs are the absolute WIDEST measure 19" around...they are verry skinny in proportion to my hips. I think I would have to take a 25 in these, gosh darn it.

I did some comparsion earlier...let me see if I can find it...

here we go:

okay so my biggest paige measures 14" across (But they sit higher) and 9 inches across the largest part of the thigh, but I could go bigger in the thigh than that cause those are tight. My rise on my paiges is 7" and I could probably do a 10" thigh because the pockets on these are so low. And my ag's which are my looset jeans (other than my mias which I have to to get the sides taken in) measure about 9 3/4 inches.

what do you think? I don't want to be swimming in my jeans. I don't mind a little loose but I don't want to a) get them too big and b) then have them stretch out.

I say just get them and if they don't fit - return them...
