Just to let you know...Macys is getting the new Spring/Summer 2005 denim billboard thing delivered on January 7th, so figure all that stuff should be up on the website around then

Diesel is not going to supply Macys with thier clothing anymore. They are consolidating all thier clothing to their official stores. They will begin to pull their clothing in the first quarter of the new year.

Herald Square is going to have men's but women's has been out for a while now. They are sticking with bloomingdales for all I know. The thing is that I would much rather have them stick to their stores so that I can buy their jeans and be able to have something different than what others are wearing. I dont have to worry about italiandepot or dieselofmiami getting any more new styles. Has anyone seen the pricing on the new jeans? There is nothing lower than $190 and they go up to $400! NICE!

The reason they are so expensive this season is because of the material they are using now. They are using more Japenese fabrics and stiching, which accounts for the higher prices. The Japense make some of the best raw denim and Diesel wants to use them. Wait for Spring/Summer 05' you will see prices go through the roof.

I don't mind the price rise as long as they continue to keep the quality up there and the washes unique. I really welcome it so that I don't have to see everyone wearing the same pair. $400 is too much for diesel tho, I'd rather have evisu's for that price.

Well I'll still be trying to get them for less. $400 is kinda nuts I agree. I've also noticed a drastic change ni the past year or so in the style of the diesels jeans, which I like a lot! So I will definately stick true to the brand as well, much as it may hurt my wallet.

A guy I know who buys directly from diesel for a small NYC store told me that diesel has cut their distribution by 50% in the last 6 months, and they don't plan to sell to any new people, so he was excited that he already had a contract. I will let people here know if he's unable to get anymore and if this rumor about the diesel-store-only sales is true. Somehow I don't see it happening entirely; Diesel stores are simply not in enough places to cover the demand...

I'm going to ask the about that. I do remember that last year, they were trying to get as many retailers to carry their products as they could. Maybe cause they new that this was coming. I guess the only people that would know are the really higher-ups in the company. They make their jeans "intentionally hard to find" in their stores, so it wouldnt make any sense not to distribute them to other stores. There is one reason I could think of---high theft...Nordstrom and Macys stopped carrying diesel for women a while back because of that and so did Saks.
