No-one wearing Diesel skinny jeans in UK?

Thread Starter

I may be wrong but I have been out in London and various other towns in the SouthEast of England and Birmingham in the Midlands over the last few weeks.

I have been looking at what jeans guys are wearing (not in a stalkerish way) but I am interested in what people are wearing.

I can count the number of guys wearing skinny Diesel jeans on one hand. In London the other day I spotted one guy in Thavar and that was it. I didn't see many Larkee to be honest.

Now this has been the case everywhere. Very few people in Diesel skinny jeans and everyone (and I mean the vast majority) are wearing skinny Levis (510 and 511) or high street (Topman) skinnies.

Has Diesel had their day? I hope not although I am glad Levis are having a renaissance with their 510 and 511 skinny fits. Everyone was wearing them.

Because of their new washes I guess Diesel jeans turned into a more evening/ night out/ club jeans. It's hard to go at 10 in the morning wearing a pair of thavar 608t/ 829b icon_smile.gif Almost all Diesel's washes are ripped, dirty, stained and distressed. Levis brand is a more versatile one, you can combine them with almost everything. On Diesel you MUST wear a low profile top and shoes cause the jeans are too "in your face".

On the other hand, the price for a pair of Diesel is twice the price for a pair of Levis.

Totally agree with this. Most people won't spend hundreds on a pair of jeans.

But I think diesel is still popular, just look at how many new members we have on this forum now, compare with 2~3 years ago were at one point the forum was pretty dead.

I agree they are overpriced. Why pay 300 euros for a pair of Diesel jeans when you can get a Saint Laurent one for that kind of money?

Because a slim jeans from every brand with a belt is decent looking. Not too tight and not too loose. The diff isn't worth the price says my friends.

Yup it could be those crazy washes. That's why I probably won't be buying anything from fall/winter collection. Some of those washes look ridiculous, way over the top.
Price is probably also a factor and diesel jeans are getting more expensive with every season.

What about jogg jeans?

Well, isn't everyone converting to them? They're way easier to wear than normal jeans and no neurological consequences either.....
