rigid or stretch?

Which does everyone prefer? I have one pair of stretch joeys in medium miner and I really want another pair of joeys! I'm hoping to use the designsbystephene 35% off code. From their site I see lots of rigid styles, but I haven't tried them on and I'm not sure how they fit compared to the stretch ones. Do I size up? size down?

And any recs for washes?

I think mostly everyone seems to prefer rigid, but I like both. They both have their pluses. Rigid tend to stretch out quite a bit during wear, so you want to get them fairly snug to begin with. IMO I would stay the same size as your stretch.

how come rigid is generally preferred? i thought stretch always fits better? only tried on stretch joeys before though, never rigid

A lot of people seemt o prefer the rigid, it is a softer nice denim, very comfortable. I like both, I find the stretch holds its shape better, as I said the rigid does stretch out during the day...wait to hear everyone elses reasons why they prefer the rigid...it just seems to be the consensus every time this topic comes up. You could run a search on it too.

So far in the pics people have posted of themselves in each, they look much better in the rigid IMO: myself included. My vote is therefore Rigid.

I look worse in rigid...they are very tight on my waist and loose in my thighs. I look much better in stretch, they are much softer and more forgiving, and they just fit better!

Stretch--the way to go! Plus, they definitely do hold their shape a lot better. a lot!

Thanks!! I think next time I order a pair I'll give rigid a shot. I usually wear rigid SFAM styles and they fit me pretty good, so I can wear rigid styles. The thing w/ my stretch TRs is that I found them to bit tight around the knees. Hope the rigid styles aren't like that too...

Not for 8 months sorry. Neimans has a once a year sale. They drop the price by about 30 bucks on a pair, then add 50% off.
So I wait, and I love how they do presale for Neimans card holders only.

TRs go on sale about twice a year in NYC. I know a store about 5 blocks from my house that always marks them down 50% in January and July.

I have Joey in rigid and stretch. After wearing for a couple of hours, my stretch ones will stretcj out so much that I feel like they are falling down even with a belt. The rigid gets more comfortable and still fits great. Another vote for rigid.

So glad to hear that Asiandiva, I just wore my TR Dark Cowgirls for the first time all day yesterday and I thought they held their shape pretty well. The quality of the denim is so amazing, I love them. Other brands I have tried in 100% cotton stretched like mad, these don't.

neiman's is having a sale on TRs right now. i think they will go an extra 50% off from sale price after xmas (it was an extra 30% off before). at the one in newport that i go to, they had lotsa cords/velvet/destroyed styles (big t included).

yes. i went to the one in newport beach yesterday. if you want velvet & cords they will have in all sizes (and lots of colors). the joey/bobby destroyed were available in limited sizes since they are probably left over from a couple of season ago.

I have the gals a the big Neimans call me also. Different states do the sales at different times, but I'll find out. Then I'll race you there.
