Question(s) about manufacturing jeans

So it seems like "Made In Japan" is arguably one of the best things you could say about your jeans, considering the country's reputation for denim.

But I'm wondering...Is it misleading to have the rolls of denim imported from Japan, and simply have the jeans cut and sewn in the USA? So it would be: "Made In Japan, Cut & Sewn In The USA".

They (Japan) are known for the quality of the denim fabric they produce, and not necessarily for how they cut, sew or wash, correct?

Good question. I've seen some that just say Made in Japan and Crafted in USA, some just say Made in the USA, since I think a lot of times brands use different manufactures/sources, so they may not all be sourced in Japan but are made in the US, if that makes sense?

ETA: Japan is definitely known for their fabrics but that's not to exclude some Japanese based denim brands, but yeah, I'd say they're more well known for their fabric.
