Diesel Thavar 827w - The Light blue pair that goes Un-Noticed, until now. Review & Fit Pix

Hi Everyone - if you are looking for pair of light blue denim that is also light in weight, look no more.  This pair is definitely designed and made for spring and summer time.  Today I'm going to do a review on Diesel Thavar 827w, Spring/Summer 2014 collection.

I have been eyeing this pair for few months now, but never really got serious about it until last week.  I bought this pair from @giamatshop on here and as many have good experience w/ him.

Moving onto the jeans.  They are very light blue denim, with no hint of yellow in them.  There's also no white in them as well.  I would guess the denim is thin around 8-9oz; made out of 100% cotton, and is Made in Italy.  The material is thinner than my Belther 828T.  So if you're looking for a thicker heavier denim, this pair is not it.  What I really like about this pair is in the details.  It has faint rust spots on top of the jeans closer to the belt loops and the pockets.  It has a little clear jewel by the coin pocket where Blue Eyecon button usually are located.   It has distressings similar to Thavar 886b, except there's no fabric underneath them.  So if you accidentally jab your toes you may rip the jeans and make the distress holes larger; so be careful when you slip them on.

Looking at the photos online, you would think the seams and the crotch area is very dark, almost boarder line when you pee'd yourself.  But after getting the jeans I dont think its 'THAT' dark.. but below are bunch of fit pics, so you can be the judge =).

Fit wise:  They fit like standard how Thavar would fit.  I went w/ 29x30 for this pair because I worry my legs don't fit through them if I had gotten a 28.  First try on the thighs are great, but calves below the knee is tight; but I expect them to loosen over wear.  My waist is okay but I am certain this pair will stretch out 0.5" to 0.75" full size.  I worry that the back area will stretch out a bit to sag similar to many of us have experienced with Thavar 886b.  I will update everyone once I put some hours in this pair.  I am not sure if I would size down on this pair though, I guess it depends on your legs and how Thavar fit you, but I am pretty certain I won't be able to fit into 28x30 in this pair.

Overall I do like this wash a lot, but its niceness is in the details.  If you are in the market for pair of light denim, thin and spring/summer feel this pair is it.  I also feel like the materials is breathable as in air will flow through them nicely during those spring/summer breezes.

Finally here is a quick photo comparing my light jeans.  Left to Right: Shioner 8PN, Thavar 827w, and Braddom 888p.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions about this pair.  I hope all the photos and this brief review helps.  Talk to you guys soon!

Thanks Weenie and I Like Jeans - I got the chair actually just randomly on Craigslist.  its just people posting things they don't want/need to sell. I got a steal on this one, paid $40 for it..

Congratulations on the buy!
Great review as always, perfectly detailed, not boring with descriptions ... JUST RIGHT!

I have to say that I am pretty satisfied from the seller as well. He is a great guy! Easy to communicate with him and very fast with the shipping! What a pleasure to buy from him!

THESE JEANS ARE PERFECTLY AMAZING FOR SUMMER!!! Especially with that wash. This is the wash of Summer 2014!!!

I wouldn't mind getting these, but I already have Thavar 8880m and Thavar 888p.

Hi Champ aka Mike Tyson... These will be slightly thinner material than 8880M and they are different from 888p. You can see from the photos above, but yes I can see similarities.. To my wife every pair looks the same.

I have 8PN and 888P

is it necessary to get 827W ?

@shatianzhenyy I posted photos of the comparison between the 3 pairs at the very end of the review.  You can see for yourself the color differences.

8PN is similar color tone in some spots, but the materials and feel of 8PN is completely different from 827w.  8PN denim is much thicker, with super cool details like the faded squares on the side of jeans.. and big rips.  827w is 'clean' compare to 8PN.

888p has yellowish tint in them vs no yellow tint in 827w.  Hope this helps!

I think I might have to get me a pair....they are just so expensive!

Not sure what size you are (they have various) but they're available for half price (£110) online at Selfridges here:

http://www.selfridges.com/en/Menswear/Brand-rooms/Brands/DIESEL/Thavar-slim-fit-tapered-jeans_905-10023-00CKS00827W/?previewAttribute=01+(denim)

Doesn't say they're in the sale so I wonder if they've priced them wrong,... having paid £165 a couple of weeks ago I could punch myself for not finding these sooner!

Long time member here. Sorry to thread bump this but wanted to follow-up on something. After wearing these 827ws, did you experience any skin abnormalities on your legs/thighs? Specifically, red dots/goosebumps? Once I purchased these from online from Diesel, I wore mine for about 3 days straight and I don't know if it's the dye on the jeans or maybe it's my skin allergies (even though I own multiple Diesel jeans and never experienced this before), red dots appeared all over my legs and thighs. Maybe I received bad pair? Or is there some kind of special dye treatment on these jeans that caused this? Just wanted to see your insight.

Cheers

Hmmmmmmmm... That's interesting... But no I have not noticed any irritations and rashes when I wear this pair.. I don't think this wash has any special chemical coating that could cause this.. But of course I do not know exactly how it's giving you a rash tho!

pics of the rash so we can ID? j/k if the pair fits tighter than other diesel jeans it could be that it's just rubbing on the skin too much. it might be a good idea to give the jeans a wash before wearing them again if the rash continues.

Stop wearing the jeans and if the rash dies down then good. If it occurs again while wearing the jeans then you probably are having a reaction to something. In the meantime, if the symptoms are causing you discomfort, try an over the counter antihistamine. If symptoms persist, contact your local doctor. Dont bother posting pics of it. A ddx on here would be a waste of time, you'd probably get 20 diagnoses and they'd all be wrong.
