Diesel Black Gold Excess Authenticity Issue. PLEASE HELP and share your expert opinions...

Evening Team, Im asking a massive favour in hoping as many of you as possible can cast your opinions on the authenticity of these jeans. They are Diesel Black Gold Excess 81C and I sold them on ebay to a buyer in Norway. Here are the pictures I posted of the jeans on the eBay....

 

 

 

 

 

 

The buyer has messaged me today to alert me that the button came off when he touched it, and he is also adamant that they are Fake, due to the following reasons....(and I quote)

 

1) Apparently there is ''no 'D' or Diesel printed on the back of the nail that attaches the buttons''.

2) ''Original Jeans have a small size label in white, these dont''

3) ''Original jeans have a big white label that describes the model, wash and size on the back left inside of the jeans. Mine Dont!''

4) ''The wash is a wah that Diesel has not listed in its catalogue''.

5) His other DBG Have a 'White Diesel logo with the Indian Head on''.

 

He is awaiting a letter from Diesel Norway to confirm that the jeans are fake. 

 

I have explained in no uncertain terms that these are 100% the real deal., but he is not backing down, convinced they are fake, so I have asked him to send me some photos of my jeans next to his so I can see what he is comparing to.

 

 

OPINIONS PLEASE....?

He has just sent me some images of his DBG jeans, explaining why he thinks the ones I sent him are fake. Here are the pics of his....

 

 

  

 

   

 

The first two pics are of his DBG. The others are of the ones I sold him.

Granted, the button is missing so I have offered him some money to have it re-attached. As far as I can gather, he believes they are fake because the tag with the indian godhead on is not white. Also, you can see that the rivets holding the buttons in place do not have Diesel or a D on them.

 

I have explained to him that I have sol several other pairs exactly the same as these with no complaints, as well as a load of other Excess and Superbia!

Isn't the microstitching on there? That's probably the best and most accurate way to tell if a pair of Diesels are authentic or not. Black Golds don't follow the same traditions as ordinary Diesel, as far as I know.

 

But, taking a quick look at my pair of Excess (bought from a Diesel store):

 

1) There are no Ds on the back of the buttons.

2) I have a size label.

3) There is no big label with model/wash/x, none of my DBGs have this, all of my ordinary Diesels do.

4) I wasn't aware there was even a catalogue of washes, DBG or otherwise?

5) My pair of Excess do not have the Indian head, but it does have a microstitching tag.

 

I will be glad to take photos if it will help you.
 

There's a very large chance your pair is real...wouldn't let him scam you.

Thanks for your response bud. This clears up a lot for me as I had no idea about the indian head tag, and it isnt present on the jeans I sold him.

 

However.... I have just looked at all my other BG jeans I have for sale and none of them have the indian head, just the small microstitching tag! I will pass this info onto the buyer!

I just have too many pairs of jeans at the moment. Take away the ones I have in the marketplace right now, I still have 30 pairs in the wardrobe and I cannot justify keeping them all!

I have a pair of Excess I got from another member here too.. they look and feel authentic to me. I can compare later.  But Aahz has few pairs of DBG too who can probably help too!

I bought mine on Diesel online store; mine doesn't have "D" and no Indian head. I think the buyer doesn't know anything about DBG.

I checked out my 8ML Excess, none of the buttons have the little D and tags doesn't have any indian head.... it has a really small microstitching and all the other tags w/ it... i think the buyer is just not familiar w/ DBG jeans.

leftvapor, yours is 100% real, I also have a pair of 81c and 83s.  No indian head on all of the DBGs I've seen.  I also bought another DBG wash 80p from a diesel store  last summer with no indian head.  Same with my buddy's 8ML.  All have the tiny micro-stiching strip, and none of the button has a D either.  I concur w/ Denim Collector, the buyer probably just don't know DBG.  Hope this works out for you leftvapor..

it's normal (at least for the newer DBG jeans)

I don't have it on my 8ML

I have the model, wash, lab etc. information only on inner "textile" tag at right front

I don't even have the inner indian head tag on my 8ML, but there is small microstitching tag (see picture bellow), same as it is on jogg jeans, t-shirt, belts and other diesel stuff.

Guys, thanks for your responses, much appreciated/ I like to think I know my stuff and I did come across in that kind of way when I emailing the buyer, but the fact he wouldnt back down put a sligh doubt in my mind. I knew they were real though I was adamant, I even asked him to look at all the tiny details (Coin logo, tag on the back, stitching, etc) and feel the denim to confirm the authenticity. He agreed the fit was very good but thought the feel of the denim was very poor for DBG. I ended up saying to him that maybe his personal opinion on the jeans were just negative and he just didnt like them, although I think they are amazing and woul own a pair myself if they did a short leg. He is still emailing me but the conversation seems to have steered towards whether or not I think he could find another pair of Tepphar 8W3 (or similar alternative) as he likes his so much he wishes he bought two pairs. Very strange, although I am more than happy to help. He is no longer complaining though!!? Thanks again guys, really really appreciated, and I can use this thread as evidence should he decide to open up a case with ebay!

those are def real, i have those myself, i worked for diesel, DBG are different compared to diesel, they tried not to put the brand name on all the buttons, i think the buyer just trying to give you a hard time
