So I am trying to learn which credit card will provide maximum number of miles.
I am currently looking at three different cards:
STARWOOD PREFERRED
application: http://www262.americanexpress.com/business-credit-cards/business-card-details/starwood-business-credit-card
Earn up to 25,000 Starpoints as a new card member. You will receive 10,000 points after your first purchase, and when you spend $5,000 in 6 months, you will receive another 15,000 points. These 25,000 points can be redeemed for 6 nights at a Category 1 or 2 hotel.
So that would be about $575 worth of free hotel rooms

When I called they said:
40,000 points - $400 a year gift card
Travel - add points into frequent flyer
Pay with points - book at Amex
CHASE SAPPHIRE
"The Chase Sapphire Card is one of the most popular credit card offers for travel rewards as it appeals to those of you who fly frequently whether for business or leisure or those who simply like earning points throughout the year to later redeem for a large reward such as a free flight or free hotel stay."

CAPITAL ONE
This might be the one to get. It provides 2 points for every dollar spent. That could possibly provide me with 2x as much travel credit each year.

An additional Idea from Jayne:
40,0000 points on Delta got her a ticket to France. Worth about $1,100
