Here's a rare chance to own a little piece of Marc Jacobs history!
This is the runway prototype of the Gipsy bag for the Spring 2010 collection, as carried by Iris Strubegger in the mainline show:
It is approximately 12"X x 13"W x 2"D with a 21" strap drop. It has a zip top closure, lightly distressed hardware, side key hook, brown satin lining, interior slip pocket, and adjustable blue nylon strap. The bag is taupe leather and woven with metallic silver leather and brown and turquoise python. The produced version of this bag, which differs slightly, was $1595.
The bag was gently carried and has a few minor scuffs. The eighth photo shows a corner of the leather on the inside of the strap that has turned up. Please note that because this bag is a prototype, it does not have a season tag or Marc Jacobs nameplate. It does have the signature Marc Jacobs engraving on the zipper.
