Levi's 501's with unusual leather patch - can someone help me authenticate?

Thread Starter

I bought these two pairs of Levi's 501's from a national chain.  I noticed that the leather patch is different from all the other Levi's 501's I own.  The red ink on them is an unusually bright shade and there's less detail in the printing.  I have also noticed that they're missing the registered trade mark on the leather patch.

One of the pairs is made in Mexico and the other Egypt.  The pair made in Mexico has a color code that I'd never seen before: 00501-XHVYY.  The other pair did not have a label with such a code.  Apart from the leather patch, everything else about the jeans appear authentic.

I would be interested to hear your opinions on these jeans.

Hi there,

Just happened to buy a similar pair of 501s made in Egypt in Israel.

Still wondering whether they are fake or not. Any ideas?

Hi there again,

I have found that it's the freshest version of the Levi's Two Horse Patch.

More nfo can be found here:

So you and I seem to have bought the original pairs.

What do you say? :-)
