Can you tell me about Black Gold?

Hello everyone. Nice to have found this forum after searching on "I hate styleforum" haha.

 

I have an important job interview (West Coast tech company) in a couple weeks and wanted to go for some new dark wash jeans, so I ended up splurging on some Diesel Black Gold "Excess" cause I basically liked the color, fit and cut very much - not boring but not too funky either, I suppose.

 

I just wondered if someone could tell me more about Black Gold as it comes to denim - how is it different or worth the extra money? Doesn't matter now I bought them anyway, but wanted to know if it's just a branding thing or it's washed in unicorn jizz, etc.

Its Diesels more expensive brand, quality of the garments are the same from my experiance, they just look different, most Diesel black gold jeans have a black stripe on the coin pocket with gold lettering you're pretty much just paying for the name.

Thanks for the reply, I think you are right. Except I feel the denim on the Excess is softer than say the Viker. Anyways, I'm very happy with my jeans icon_cool.gif

Is the same wash on excess and viker??? I doubt there is the same was in DBG and in standard Diesel line...

Softness has a lot of different factors, if their cotton/stretch, cotton/linen combo their usually softer cotton/linen being the softest, or if their distressed a lot more their more worn in and softer, washes like 73n and 74w are very hard and rigid because their not very distressed and %100 cotton and a thick denim, just mostly dark indigo dye. I've been wearing Diesel jeans for about 11 years, and other designers, 7famk, true religion, antik and by far the most comfortable jeans are the cotton/stretch and cotton/linen combos, cotton/stretch are thin and won't keep you as warm though better for hotter climates.
