I for one prefer to buy MII unless the non-mii wash is super special (i have 8b9 & 8y9 ATM). To me, MII has better quality, i know many of you disagree on this. I'm not trying to make a debat out of this, it's jus My $0.02.

You're right though, for the most part MII is better quality with good materials and a lot more detailing. But non-MII has some cool washes just the same as MII has some poor quality washes. 886B is one (don't think I'll ever get over that one!) but I think most people prefer MII as the washes are cooler. It's all personal preference. I try to keep an open mind with washes and cuts!!

i would add that non MII jeans are achieving more and more qualitiy approaching the MII jeans quality (denim, distressing...), especially the last collection ; for instance washes 806M, 660Q, 803U...

besides non MII retail price is now close to the MII's.

I expect 811K to be priced similar to 809V/811P, maybe $20-$30 less.

I started with diesel 6~7 years ago, my early pair were 71b, 71j. Back then 99% were MII, pricing was reasonable $250 +/-.

Then MII pricing start going up, and some non-MII showed up. In general, these were basic/simpler washes, solid blue color, not much detail, some mild fade. And you can get one less than $200.

Now, a good 50% (could be more) are non-MII. I agree with pryv75 that the quality are better with more detail, but pricing are much closer too.

I completely agree. I only buy MII with pre stacking now.

i just feel like the cost for Diesel to make a pair of jeans in tunisia is cheaper than in Italy, but yet they still charge you up the a$$, thus I don't see the value.  Of course I have no prove on this.. but since I work in operations and manufacturing as my day job, its quite logical move for Diesel as a company.  Its like would you bay $1k for Moncler jacket when its moved to made in China?

i have a lot or moncler jackets and moncler grenoble ski jackets (close or over 1000 euros) but they are not made in italy but in east european countries like romania. most people think they are made in italy, it's only true for some accessories like gloves, scarf, beanies... or sweaters. anyway the jacket quality is amazing and close to excellence, especially grenoble jackets.

The stuff is made by low paid industry workers no matter what country it's made in. There's no extra love or care going into it if its made in Italy. Just some man or woman who turns up for work in a diesel factory and simply mass produces jeans. And probably hates his job as much as the next guy. Quality is subject to the manufacturing system which is decided at a corporate level. Make no mistake what gets made where is purely a business decision. It just so happens that diesel makes most of its best washes in Italy. This probably helps with the pricing!! Having said that, I'm just after looking at my collection and all I have is MII except for 886Z. But that's because they're awesome. icon_cool.gif
