Grag I'd love to ba able to take better pics but I'm living in a cottage next to where my house is being built and the lighting isn't great. I've tried taking photos everywhere in the house and these are the best I can do. My own house will be built in a few months and there will be lots of light and room to take photos.

I don't think it's the lighting but it's the iphone icon_razz.gif

I love my iPhone but the camera is pretty shit. Aperture is too small. It can have all the pixels in the world and it won't make a difference.

Have you tried to turn on flash? It makes the quality much better. It works on my galaxys2

Doesn't work so well when you take photos in a mirror. 😉

Yea true, but for the other pics I mean. Try to make them in a bit darker place, with flash on. Should give bit better quality.

They are competitors, and it is good for us. Thinking that the Galaxy s3 and s4 and the new iPhone will be similar in characteristics.

I don't think that before 4s all phone cameras were so bad or even worse than the iphone camera.... icon_wink.gificon_razz.gif

You must be talking about iPhone 4 right? Cuz S2 is in no way better than the iPhone 4S in the camera department!

I would say that the camera on the Galaxy better quality. But you're absolutely right, Galaxy S2 has fewer pixels than the iPhone 4s. A direct competitor to iPhone 4s  is the Galaxy s3. And Galaxy 3s completely surpasses iPhone 4s

They are all pretty poor. Unless they increase the size of the aperture this won't change. The camera doesn't let in enough light.

Phukette - if I may... as a photographer iPhone 4s aperture opens as wide as F2.4  this is fairly wide compare to most of the point and shoots or even entry level DSLR kit lens.  The reason why these phone camera's suck indoors is due to its poor ISO capabilities.  It's sensor's sensitivity needs to be better and its noise needs to be better controlled at higher ISO ranges.

both iPhone and Galaxy will take amazing photos outdoors in daylight.. its indoors where both camera's will fail..  Not to mention the color and white balance on these phone camera's also suck so its very difficult for you to take photos of 'actual' color of jeans indoors.

so basically phukette just needs to get his girlfriend to take pics of him outdoors on his iphone then, right? 071.gif

yah; or put it on a tripod and self timer then run and pose!!!

There's a handy free app called Camera Timer!, which allows you to define delays, multiple shots and intervals.

Works great... just have to find a place to set the phone.

Thanks for the advice guys. As for my GF taking photos. She will on rare occasions but mostly she rolls her eyes up to heaven and sarcastically wishes me luck in my "fit pics". I pretend I don't notice that she's mocking me and chirpily reply "thanks babe"!!!!

Have you tried taking HDR images Phukette? That way both the darker and lighter areas will be properly exposed. And depending on the firmware, the + volume button can be used to click photos. That may help a bit with the shake.

K... Thanks for the reply. 805a isn't available in the U.S. yet (if at all) so I'll probably get 801a for now, they both look amazing!

IMO:

From pics, I feel they do not look that great to justify the price tag when seen from distance few steps away.

Not unique and striking  in the sense of 8X2, 880M, 8880M...... 888P far better.

Not sure what I am missing, unless I see in real. Too dark to feel the contrast of colors.

I'll agree with you in regards to 888P. But in my opinion the 8X2 is over rated and the 8880M is just as plain and I always found the 880M to be ugly as hell. Those bleach spots at the ends were atrocious. What were they thinking!!?? But each to their own. I think 805A is not an instant classic but it is nice dark wash like 888P is a nice light wash. I don't think it will have the following that 8X2 and 888P have.
