What's your latest purchase? (Pics required) - Page 62

Got Shioner 603B, Nice pair, 9oz twill, chino type material instead of denim so that 9oz feels more substantial. Not much to say on the wash except its a dark teal but it has a sky blue patina similar to the red patina on the 811P. They look good but the quality is ok. They fit true to size, no need to size up or down IMO.

Also Thavar 818V, Coloured wash, Not a washed black but a charcoal grey with a little fading, those marks are paint not abrasions either. Denim is light, quality is pretty shit actually. If i didnt get them for such a good price I wouldnt have bothered. Waist stretched out like a bitch and the hem a little bunchy but that could be down to the no leg length, thighs are fine though so sizing down isnt an option for me anyway. Either way, the denim is too flimsy to stack properly. These are not worth the €250+ price tag diesel are bound to put on them. Seems to be the order of the day this season, these washes all look great but the quality is just rubbish and there is a real inconsistency to the fits.

DBG Excess 84P, now this is more like it, Solid fucking denim made well. These bad boys have elastine in them and they just hug the body in the most perfect way. They didnt budge or lose their shape at all. Very dark Blue/Black coated denim, They look almost black but slightly faded. These are just amazing, the fit just stacks up the calves perfectly without any bother. I sized down on these on dieselolics advice and they fit just right. Can't say enough good things about these jeans guys.

All in all, diesel really needs to take a long look at the level of quality in their denim. If people are paying those ever increasing price tags its not wrong to expect a certain level of robustness from the garment. DBG on the other hand have really turned my head. These were my 2nd pair of excess and they have surpassed all other denim to firmly sit at the top of my favourite pairs. Gonna be paying a lot more attention to them in future. Sure, you pay €250 for them but you get €250 worth of quality.

@ Phukette

Great Reviews. I was waiting for the Thavar to hit the UK store but I will have a long think before I buy it if the quality is poor. I said to me missus yesterday after buying a new Diesel 'Jeer' Jacket that they seem to just charge whatever the fuck they like at the moment, probably why so much of it is still available at sales. I went into 3 Diesel stores yesterday and they have stacks of Darron 809V and Krooley 811P at half price. They couldnt give them away!

Heres what I picked up at the weekend.......

Scotch & Soda Polkadot Shirt (£40), Clark Dresslite (£39.99), Ralph Lauren Shirt (£19.99)

Scotch & Soda Denim Grandad (£41.95), Diesel 'Jeer' Jacket (£105), Scotch & Soda Denim Shirt (£38), Diesel Shioner 600R (£100)

Diesel Krooley 0111D (£80), Zara Pailey Tee (£12.99), Zara Waistcoat (£19.99), NUNC Short Sleeved Jumper (£22.50).

Barely and off these bits were on my 'list' so I guess thats the danger of going shopping. I had money from my Birthday though. I wanted the Shioner though and to visit the Scotch & Soda store as I had never been before.

Fit pics of the Krooley posted in the other thread! :-D

Thanks for the reviews, Phukette!

No worries guys. I'm not saying you shouldn't buy 818V but I'd definitely think hard about it to be honest. It must be all the treatments that go into them, it must be effecting the denim in some adverse way. Not good either way. The DBG are something else though. So awesome. Cool scotch & soda stuff as some serious bargains there. And you're right, last season was so poor. Darron 809V was a shite fit. 811P was nice though. Only coz I liked the 8NJ and its impossible to find a pair in good condition.

Second that!

Great review!

ill sure be getting 603b. The leg opening looks really wider compared to other shioners you have, no?

Only a little. It may look that way due to the sloppy stacking. Diesel may be making the slim/skinny cuts a little less slim to clear the way for the new skinny cuts so there is more contrast. Coz the 814M, 603B and 818V were all a little wider in the hem department. Not by much though.

Phukette, the fit on those DBG's are incredible! How does the waist run on DBG's? Low, mid or high?

@Phukette great fit on all of the jeans...reviews like this makes me wanna try jeans from other brands, like Nudie Jeans for instance.

@leftvapor nice purchases! lots of goodies!

Nice review, but I could of told any you guys that, these new denim diesel put out aren't really denim. It's twill with crappy faux paus texture. It feels and looks like sublimation. I know cause I work in clothing design industry. Not worth the price except real denim ones.now if it goes on sale for good price... Different story.
Fresh3, the twill ones(603B) are actually ok. I wore them all day yesterday and they held up pretty well. It's the 818V I had a problem with. 100% cotton denim, MII, that just didn't keep it shape. But I do agree with you on the fake texture. Having tried a couple of different brands I feel really cheated by diesels quality. But nobody does washes like diesel. DBG and Nudie do great quality jeans so I may be paying more close attention to them in future.
@dieselolic, its an allsaints furnace denim shirt. Picked it up on sale but unfortunately sold out now. Really thick denim, like wearing 888P on your back. Try the cannon shirt instead. Same quality and material just a slightly different wash. I would highly recommend allsaints denim shirts. The quality is top class.
I've just noticed that the 818V are actually a cotton/linen blend. 50% cotton 50% linen. No wonder they stretched like hell. What a stupid composition for jeans really. Especially an apparent fall/winter collection.

^ agreed. not that special and weird looking black color on 818V, and that price! are they MII or some 3rd world ?

They are MII alright. Goes to show that where its manufactured has absolutely nothing to do with quality anymore. And you're right zodiac, the colour isn't right. They're more like 600R in base colour than any kind of black colour. I wouldn't recommend them anyway. It's a bad sign that the shirt I'm wearing was better denim!!

Oh don't worry, we already went through this, everything that diesel makes in Italy probably not, and only goes through quality control there, and since they had to put that italian flag stitching, price goes up by at least 30%. I've seen some weird production from diesel this season, take that Darron 811V.

Bought those 2 Allsaints blazers, one military look to wear when i don't care, and the other one, more dressy but still casual.

Will see if I like them once I got them.

I was looking for a single button grey blazer, a basic piece...this one is more like a mix between greyish/greenish/blueish but wanted to give it a try anyway.

got them 50% off , 125€ instead of 240/250€.

I got these on the sales and have no idea what to pair them with, so far brown shoes looks ridiculous to me.

Got white sonora denim shirt as well, pictures will be uploaded soon.
