Tailoring raw denim

Hi. I'm new to the forum and I'm also new to raw denim. I bought a pair of Naked and Famous jeans about 8 months ago. They fit great at first but then I lost about 50 pounds and now they are huge on me. I was wondering if it was possible to have a tailor taper the legs and take in the waist while still keeping the denim nice and not ruining it. I don't want to pay for a new pair if I don't have to. And I would like to keep he fades. Thank you.

You  can taper and take in the waist at schaeffers garment hotel. It will probably run a total of $100 to alter them. I tapered my straight leg raw jeans and they came out alright but not perfect like out of the factory. If I were you I would just sell them and put the funds to a new pair.

Have you washed your jeans yet?

Tapering them won't be a problem, you would only really have to worry about that if the denim was unsanforized and shrinking would be highly noticeable. I got one of my raw Edwin's tapered, but unfortunately she cut the selvedge off right up to the thigh, so now I have no visible selvedge when I turn them up :(

So if your jean's are selvedge, ask the tailor if they can keep the finish.....
