Thread Starter

honestly i'm not clear on this either. i can tell you this much, my pair (well pictured at this point i think) is the version where both leather tabs on the waist are the same color. apparently that is one of the only clear indicators. i love mine so i haven't even looked into it much to be honest.

Thanks man, you picked up yours at SSense.com right?? they're in Montreal so shipping to me is good, but they charge stupid BC 12% tax.. so I was thinking to grab it at New York Speed or something and pick it up in WA.... save about $50.

Hey guys, I didn't want to open a new thread so thats why I am posting my questions here.

I am very interested in buying a pair of Diesel Thavar 886B, I usually need W31 and it sometimes is a bit too tight on my thighs. SO this is why I am looking for a more comfortable or more relaxed wash of Thavar. I stopped at the 886B because I know it stretches after wearing and it might be what I need. I don't want a Thavar with elastane. I want a classic that will be comfortable on me.

I have Diesel Thavar 8x2 and I gotta say that If I wear them for the whole day, my thighs and legs hurt, they are not the most comfortable jeans I have. And sizing up is not an option as the waist in W31 is already a bit too big for me, luckily putting a belt works.

So my question is: What is the comfortability index of Diesel Thavar 886B compared to Thavar 8x2?

I would say that the comfortability of the Thavar 8x2 is like - 6.0 or 6.5(at the most)

Please let me know what you think and please be advised that all wash suggestions are welcome. So if you know a Thavar wash that would be great for me, please let me know! I would really appreciate it!

Get W31 if u don't wear them too often else W30 is the way to go. Yes they will be very tight if u size down and you have to wear them a couple of times and after that they just loose the stiffness totally.

@straychev

Have you consider going with thavar jogg? Comfortable and more stretchy. You do loose some washes choices though.

Joggs are not what I want. They are stretchy and have a very limited wash choice.

I also want to own a classic pair/wash - like 811P or 886B, or 8x2. Something good.

So this is why I want to find a Thavar that is more roomy in the legs.

And if I get W30 in Thavar Jogg, they are too skinny(my thighs look like sausages) and if I get W32 - they are too big. They don't have W31

886B is quite slim in the thighs. Big in the waist but the thigh can be tight. Sizing down will squeeze the life out of your legs. Again I ask, if thavar doesn't fit you why keep buying them? It's not as of diesel doesn't make other cuts?

Then go with carrot cuts like krooley, darron or tepphar, they will be narrow below the knee with comfy room in thigh
post #36 of 41

Well, its not that they are not for me. I mean, yes, some washes are more thigh than others and some washes are more uncomfortable than others but I gotta say that I love the overall look of the Thavar when worn. Tepphar reminds me of an old pair of Replay's that I had a long time ago. And Krayver seems a bit too big on the calves for me. As I have no meat below my knees, Im all bone :D

So yes, I am just looking for some more comfortable Thavar.(one that does not have elastane, as it kills the look) As I now read around the forum the washes with Lyocell are more roomier than the 100% cotton ones. And I remember I really liked 829B's fit when I tried it in store.

Can you guys name more washes that have lyocell and are a bit more comfortable due to their denim(not stiff like 8x2)

604N is classic as 8x2 imo. and fit is superb! And if your legs hearts after wearing cotton thavar, you have to go with stretch washes. No option to size up for better fit on legs / thighs because waist will be huge.

I thought you already got the point some time ago with tepphar :-)

I have 33x32 my regular size but yup 886b stretches quite a bit and I think they fit more loose in the waist comparing to my other thavar jeans. I actually wish they didn't stretch at all.

886b is a really nice wash. I love when sun hits them - they look different than when you are inside.
What I don't like about them is distressed parts. I kinda love it on my 801c but hate it on 886b.

8880m has lyocell. It's a very nice summer wash. I will be buying one pretty soon so I can let you know how they fit exactly.
