Thavar 8880M size question (and introduction)

Hi everyone,

I'm pretty new to Diesel. I picked up my first pair in October and I'm onwards to about 2 dozen now.

My normal size is 33, but I usually size up for skinnier cuts to be safe (my thighs aren't too skinny).

Thavar 888P fit dead-on in 34. 886B fits good too in 34, but I suspect that 33 would have been better.

I'm on the fence about getting 8880M while they're on sale and I read that the legs are looser, but don't stretch much. Any recommendations?

Thanks a bunch!

Legs feels looser because of the denim. They do stretch but after 10+ wears.

Thanks, I ordered them in 33 today. I've been eyeing these since they appeared in diesel's store. Something about them looks like they're amazing in subtle ways.

Hey i'm a size 28 and have them in size 28, they fit me great, slim but not to skinny, just perfect.

could you have sized down?

Got my 8880M's today - here are some fit pics...

I got them in 33 and they're perfectly snug. I'm glad they won't be stretching much. I like them just like this. Now if they were a thick/stiff denim, I may find them constricting. But because they're soft (as others have noted) they're really comfortable and I can do anything in them, even sit cross-legged.

The wash is *incredible* seen in real life. For such a light color, they have a great deal of three dimensional depth - and that's just in the thigh shading and whiskers. The bleach-marks/swirls/scuffs (whatever they are) just add icing to the cake. They're great! And the frayed bits are nicely done too.

Here are the pics. The color and tone should be spot on here.

Hey Aahz, they fit you really well. I also have them and love them. I think they are one of the best washes in light colours. A purchase definately worth it's price. I actually noticed the jeans look better in real life when you're looking at yourself in the mirror than when taking pictures and posting them on here, has happened to me there a few times.

An update-- They have stretched a bit after one wear. After wearing for a few days now, they're (not quite) but almost a full size looser.

Despite that, they're holding their shape well and still look great. And... they're the most comfortable jeans I've got.

consider that nowaday for all new washes in thanaz or thavvar you have to size down. really to understand why, but diesel denim stretches even if the fabric is only cotton.

I agree but if they are made of thick denim, I'm thinking that you should go with a normal size.

Only just noticed this thread. They fit great. Better than mine fit me!

Thanks Levislad. They are a bit roomier now.

As for the denim, it's quite thin and it's 35% Lyocell. I don't know what that is, but they do seem to stretch similar to all cotton.

Speaking of thavar 8880m, does this wash stretch after couple of wears? Or it returns to its original form after you wear it?(since the lyocell)
Size 32 fitted me very slim but still comfortable, and 33 fitted much better on body but had it regular saggy waist problem( and it was even worse than my thanaz 887k)
I'm looking for slim straight looking more than slim skinny look, and I really like this wash look and color, other than safado light washes( 880i for example)

I noticed the thavar 8880m stretches a bit after a few days of wear but it's nothing dramatic. What i do is iron it after a few days to give back it's tightness and it works for me ;)

got one pair

they stretch 1 size at least

have them in 28, 27 would have been better fit in the waist, as usual with diesel, fit is correct in the legs when waist get loose a lot, that's true for almost any washes !

Here's how they fit well-worn. Nothing dramatic, but definitely more relaxed.

Still look good! I prefer the tucked in look though! ;-)

Just got the jeans. Size 33 fits very good on legs but the waist is disaster. even with belt its looks horrible. Tommorow ill go to Diesel store and exchange it for size 32, though it was kinda tight on me,(not that tight, but I dont really like light color on skinny jeans) at least it will stretch one size, well I hope so!

Formerly diesel jeans were true to size even when material was cotton plus elastin. Now almost all new washes ( i am speaking of thavars and thanaz) stretches one size at least even when the only fabric is cotton ; for instance the new 801d. When fabric is cotton plus lyocell they do stretch a lot

Aahz, the inseam of the 8880m you got from Ssense is 34 or 32?

32. They're plenty long (at 6'1") as opposed to 888p.
