I would like to get good plus size dresses

Someone has just invited me to attend a dinner social gathering where I'm supposed to dress very nicely. But I am very sad. All over again I will need to spend a lot of time to get a dress in which I will look at least ok. I have a big girl that's why it is very hard for me to get plus party dresses that I will really like. It looks like big women need to wear just-whatever gowns on a regular basis. I actually want getting a dress for me was easy and enjoyable. If you are overweight, you understand exactly what I mean. Can you please tell me where I can find a great  for an affordable price? I would appreciate your advice very much

Do you have a Torrid store near you? Or do you have enough time to get something shipped from their website? My mom still shops there (in her mid 50s!) and they have a lot of funkier items that don't cater to grandmas like a lot of the plus sized stores do.

I'd suggest checking online. I know Nordstrom carries a lot of formal gowns in plus sizes online and they don't always carry things in stores. Plus, they offer free shipping and returns so you don't have to worry about that.

 

Banana Republic and J Crew both go to 16 online. Old Navy has a plus size section online and may have one in stores as well.
